Other than desaturating all colors except purple and red and the light painting, no "photoshopping" was done.

Absolutely nothing done to this except using a nice lens and a circular polarizer.

^dayam, that looks sweet! The new Nismo is definitely better looking than the 1st version. The 1st one's nose jutted out too much imo, and that's why I never got it.

Maybe this was a subtle ploy for pics of Zs to be posted?

cooltoy 03-18-2016 12:37 PM

Maybe.

I think one of the tricks to photographing the Z is using low angles... like getting close to the ground. When you shoot a photo down at the car from above it tends to exaggerate it's proportions, especially the rear. Top-down shots also kind of miss some of the nuances of the car like the upswept steep angle where the a pillar meets the roofline. Low shots also tend to minimize the wheel gap on non-lowered cars, whereas top-down can draw attention to it a bit more.

You may be on to something...

No need for accusations! I did say I love the way they look in person.

Why did you photoshop out your car and just leave its shadow?

I had to do a brake tuck to fit my mad TA's (taffyapples) +80 wheels. Custom made by Kenchan. They're full FRP carbon glass.

Just a joke about how your car is blacker than black. No insult intended!

I think it's all about the camera angle. The z looks different every 6 inches I move around it, such a sexy, curvey car! I love taking pics of mine. You just have to find your favorite point of view. I do agree that in person is the best way to view one.
But until my wife allows me to park in the living room...

Haven't washed her in over a month, then murdered about 10,000 bugs on the drive over and up. :icon17:

But then I went to my local dealer today to check out a white 2016 Nismo and it is absolutely stunning in person. :yum:

Is it just me, or do other folks feel this way?

It's just you.

Kidding.

No, it probably comes down to the difference in a 2D picture and 3D reality. A picture can only convey so much - being there and seeing the depth/curves in person is always superior.

kenchan 03-21-2016 11:14 AM

Im no camera guy, but u need to use a certain lens 20 or 35mm prime to capture the curves of the 370z. if u use a celphone with a flat image, it will look pretty boring.

ped 03-21-2016 11:16 AM

Completely unretouched pics straight off my digital camera. The day I brought her home...

I strongly agree. Z is really not photogenic. I always feel that.

But actually I like it because fewer people would buy Zs after their internet research, and it does contribute to the Z's rareness.

:o

*

Here's a tip: Whenever a girl asks to me what kind of car I have, I always answer that I have a poor one because I'm not so rich.

Then when she really sees my car, almost without exception she says 'you said you had a poor car, but you lied !!' then I smile and gently answer 'I am so poor that I could not buy the four doors, but I'm still pretty positive and now just satiafied with my two doors'.

After all, it results in three positives.

1) You can be humble and modest
2) You can give her a surprise with some humor
3) You can really show your NICE LOOKING Z to her when it is not so photogenic.

.. I hope it works for you, too.
