It would be sweet if all car manufacturers let you put in any engine as an option. Mine would look like,

Car: 2017 Nissan 370Z (base $26,000; excludes engine and transmission)
Engine: GM V8 LT-1 460 hp, 455 lb/ft. torque at 5600 RPM (add $7,000)
Transmission: 7-speed manual $2,500
Sport package: add $3,000

Total MSRP excluding destination: $38,500
...Do you want to proceed?

I would want the Porsche 4.0L H6 from the new 911R. 8800RPM... :yum:

2017 Nissan 370Z base: $26,000
2017 Porsche 4.0L H6. 500 hp, 338 lb./ft. torque 5200 rpm: $30,000
Sport Package: $3,000
"Porsche GT3 race package": weight savings, carbon fiber components, ceramic brakes, etc.: $50,000

Total MSRP: $109,000

Do you want to proceed?

Shut Up and Take My Money. Also acceptable would be the VK45DE with a flat plane crank.

You forgot the extra suspension parts to deal with the fact you have hundreds of pounds more weight, and nearly all of it in the front of the car, making a 65/35 split. ;)

Rumor has it that the next Z will go back to its roots as the 240Z featuring a normally aspirated 2.4L inline-4 making about 200 hp. Apparently Nissan wants to compete with the Mazda Miata.

Hyperbole. LS3 weighs less than SR20 turbo motor; I bet it weighs less than VQ37....LT-1 is lighter than LS3.

Bigger don't always mean heavier.

Time to blow this thread up and have it locked. Who wants to do the honors? :rofl2:
