Not quite, but I do know what you are referring to. From Nissan News website:

For 2016, enhancements include the addition of a new Deep Blue Pearl exterior color and a new available Bose® audio system incorporating Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Active Sound Enhancement (ASE).

The ANC system generates canceling sound to help remove undesirable low frequency engine noise while preserving invigorating sounds of engine performance, providing a more "pure" sound. The system is also utilized on the famed Nissan GT-R. The ASE enhances natural engine sounds to help bolster the driver's acceleration experience.

Also available again in 2016 are the Nissan 370 NISMO and 370Z NISMO Tech, along with three 370Z Roadster models – 370Z Roadster, 370Z Touring Roadster and 370Z Touring Sport Roadster (for details, please visit NissanNews.com).

Ah, gotcha. I didn't realize that'd been added to the 370z's. I'm curious to know whether anyone who has owned older an older 370z and new 370z can attest to the difference or lack thereof.

Just a guess, but ASE is possibly based on engine RPM and/or output and/or throttle pedal position. ANC may use the same microphone that the cell phone interface uses (or the same RPM/&c signals as ASE). If you find a good answer, please share the link.
