Replace the Z

Replaced my 370z after 4.5 years of great ownership. Had ALOT of fun with it and changed many sets of tires:p

It was great to be a part of this forum. Everyone is very helpful when another member is in need.

Replaced the Z with this baby. Offer too good to refuse. Preparing for the future with 2 more seats if you get what I'm saying :stirthepot:

Still getting to know the technology. What amazes me the most is there are 4 different drive modes with different displays

Curious why you changed vehicles?

b1adesofcha0s 02-14-2016 11:55 PM

Love the color, congrats! I made a similar switch last week after having my Z for over 5 years. Didn't have the extra seat requirement though (good luck/congrats on that as well). Would be interested in hearing your comparisons with the Z once you get more familiar with it.

Let's face it, the 370Z is aging and many have moved on. As the op is saying, back seats are needed for future use.

ssmoked 02-15-2016 12:16 AM

The Lexus RC-F weighs about 650 pounds more but with 135 extra hp v8. Its track tuned to compete with m3/m4, atsv, rs5, c63amg so turning is very planted and minimal roll with the PSS. Someone posted on YouTube with a stock one running 12.4, will confirm that after breaking ;) The ride is pretty harsh just like the z minus the rattling and add ALOT refinement. The sound of v8 and stock quad exhaust is just pure bliss. Will update the in depth performance after break-in.

The one thing I disliked about the new ride is it only has 1 outlet in the center console. So I feel naked driving without my valentine 1 until I tap it with the mirror

I was originally going to hold off purchasing until I need more seats, but the deal is too too good to let go.

Z-Girl 12 02-15-2016 12:47 AM

Loooovvveee the color and I'm seeing a lot of these gently used on car gurus.com. a Toyota dealership here got a dark grey one they let me take out and beat up. I think the car is freakishly gorgeous the acceleration is crazy. Very heavy but pulls, sure has a backseat but not at all use able for me as I'm 5'9 and like my seat back. No way people could sit back there with me driving.

In the end I picked up another Z for pretty cheap as they are selling crazy cheap now anyway. Good choice OP I'm sure you will enjoy for many years to come.

Great replacement Ssmoked

Sure like the color

Sweet car but I hate the color, LOL
I was just looking at one of these in white with red interior cause I'll be switching cars in a few as well, just feel I need to let it go while its still HOT, low miles and can still get a pretty penny for it. My next 3 choices are:

1:Corvette C7
2:Audi RS5
3:Lexus RC-F

370Z is not aging. It is still young and alive in our mind.

Nice car !!

Just curious: what model originally was it exactly before getting tuned ??

Looks like a stock RC-F to me.

squid267 02-15-2016 07:49 AM

I was considering the RC-F a few months ago to replace my Z. Cool to still someone actually do it. Hope you like it!

Dirk McGurck 02-15-2016 07:55 AM

I kinda want to drive one, but I doubt I'd want to spend money on one myself because I'm a dinosaur that prefers manuals. Still a great looking car, and I'm sure it's a blast to drive.

Haha I'm the opposite, I hate plain colors. Have you seen the molten pearl orange in person? It's pure sex lol
Well make sure the next high performance car you get is reliable. That's why I went with Lexus. Btw, if you search autotrader new cars, there are sooo sooo many white rcf sitting on dealer lots. Great deals can be made!

It originated from the Lexus IS line. The coupes are call RC. The high performance version in called RC-F

Although heavier, it feels more stable in turns and pulls harder than the Z with more power. The refinement coming from the Z is like economy vs business class. Plus, I would need more seats soon and gaining a huge trunk is a plus;)

kenchan 02-15-2016 09:26 AM

considering the op went from AT to AT i can see this as natural choice.

ive seen these cars in person while i was visiting lexus and they look really nice. lexus quality is second to none, and the interiors are super nice. coupes for dd with baby is probably one of the worst choices imho per actual experience (wait till u have to pick up your kid on a stormy day), but hey.. we all live and learn. :icon17: get a 4 door dd.

OldGuyFla 02-15-2016 10:33 AM

Too many bells & whistles or me, plain & simple with performance.

Just preparing. None in the oven yet. I can't stand 4 doors, rather get SUV if anything. What coupe did you had trouble with moving the baby in and out?

Bmw has too many bells and whistles a person will never use. My mother just leased a 428i convertible and 95% functions she has no clue about.

I spent about 5 hours familiarize with the Lexus and I can see using majority of the functions in it

mine is the G-coupe. everything is fine until you have to pickup ur kid in the rain or storm. u can't buckle ur kid in without reaching in with the door open. which means ur door panel gets all wet along with the switch controls on the door. wat? close the door?.. yah, good luck getting out. lol

just get something with dedicated rear doors and ure set.

now a days my kids can buckle themselves in so no issue.

kenchan 02-15-2016 11:40 AM

raising kids especially babies and toddlers is hard enough. u dont want beautify over function. function first. if ure a parent u know wat im talking about. and im a pretty patient guy when it comes to kids.

Kzonts 02-15-2016 03:50 PM

Beautiful car. If I could afford it I would do the same. :-)

You can get "2" 370's for that price...

Congrats!

tonythetiger 02-15-2016 04:13 PM
