if ure talking about the little bump u feel from the drivetrain while approaching a stop while in gear, its normal. just use that to get out of watever gear u were in.

I drive the Z with plenty of aggression. But that doesn't have to be hard on the clutch. I rarely launch or have need to slip the clutch. I should be able to easily get 100K out of the stock clutch. Driving on the street.

i dont think my z will ever reach 100k... :ugh: im still at 18k+ 6yrs in.

And I agree with you to a point. It certainly doesn't have to be hard on a clutch. And some cars will burn a clutch quicker than others. Average clutch life on a 911 is 60k. Certain high-end cars is 10k but of course that is on a completely different level but it still proves a point. Not sure if there is an average yet for the 370 but I imagine 70k will be pushing it for the "aggressive" driver.

But I still say if you 100k then you've been granny shiftin' that bitch way too much. ;)

I may very well get over 100K miles out my stock clutch, but for the life of me I can't get 8K miles on a set of rear tires :driving:

one of 5 things u shouldnt do in a MT car is to not eat tacos while driving.

That's something you just shouldn't do in any car!

Amateur. The amount of Taco Hell eaten has given me the ability to juggle both soft and hard tacos while down shifting without rev matching and triple clutching.

I don't know how true it is, but a high end car salesman told me some rich guy that wasn't experienced driving a stick, bought a Ferrari back in the '80s, and blew out his clutch on his way home after purchasing the car. Maybe that's why modern Ferrari's have floppy paddle shifters.

i think those brands got sick and tired of non-car guys dat cant drive stick faking up acceleration times and losing to honda fits while merging lanes.

I'm quite sure it is very true. Youtube videos all over the place to prove it too. The time to learn to drive stick is not on a $400k car. But hey. If they're rich enough to buy the car then they should have enough fir the $20k bill for clutch replacement.

Some paddle shifters still have clutches, but can work like an auto without the "clutch peddle".

I hold the car with the clutch hills all the time. Can't say I have ever had to replace a clutch "prematurely."

Generally speaking, unless it doesn't have a transmission, all cars have clutches. Autos have clutch packs. Manuals have your standard clutch. DCTs, DSGs, PDKs...etc have your automated dual clutch setup.
