So maybe I left a couple things out. I have always loved the 370z, never actually been in one though. Also my Tiburon has quite a bit of work done to it to hopefully compete with the next level of sports cars, I realize now that there is a limit to how driveable and functional a high horsepower fwd car can be.

Here are 2 pics of my current Tiburon:

As far as it stands, I am actually parting out the performance and will be setting it up as a dedicated track car but n/a. As much as the suspension was modified I would guess its still less then the 370z skidpad and cornering ability. Power wise it is faster in a straight line by a decent margin. But driveability is where it falls off hard, it is hard to drive it almost anywhere unless I'm in racemode lol.

I want a nice streetable car, with good power, great handling, nice interior, 2 seater, and has a 'fun' factor. I believe the 370z fills this and then some.

Anyways I appreciate the response, I cant wait to drive one this next week. I am literally about to pull the trigger to buy one, I just want to drive one and see if its what I think I would have lots of enjoyment out of. Also it wouldn't stay stock for long, maybe a couple days lol. But I think I would hold back this time and only do the most impactful mods more slowly instead of building an entire car 100 times over.

I had a 2005 Tiburon SE for almost 6 years prior to the Z.
1. FWD is so much easier and more forgiving in bad weather. Not to say the Z can't deal with bad weather but FWD deals with it better.
2. Also the 2+2 layout means you can technically take 4 people if you had to.
3. A trunk to put stuff out of sight.
4. Regular maintenance and gas was much cheaper in the Tiburon. Cheap gas, cheap oil, cheap tires etc. Insurance wasn't much different.

A few things that are the same. Modding and aftermarket parts are expensive when compared to more common sports cars. Tiburon had clutch issues wearing out early (IMO was from driver inexperience) so does the Z the CSC (concentric slave cylinder) on the clutch fails on many cars.

One thing I did like coming from the Tiburon was it used a timing belt which was a pain to change, the Z uses a chain which doesn't need service.

How much horsepower and zero-to-sixty do you have on your Tiburons? :D

172bhp and like 7sec. :P It wasn't fast but still was a nice, cheap car.

All kidding aside, the Hamster on the dearly missed Top Gear actually really enjoyed driving the Tiburon. He said it was immense fun at REAL cheap. I never drove one.

ive not driven the new civic, but the previous gen was such a POS it was unbelievable.

even my wife who's not a car person at all said she hated it. the dealer loan it to us while her brand new mexican Fit EX needed warranty work. :shakes head:

I came from a 03 Tiburon GT. The ONLY pro I can think of for the Tib was the sound system. And it wasn't even particularly good, it's just that the Z's sound system is complete garbage.

a manual transmission doesn't make a Tiburon cool.

calling it a tibby makes it even more gay.

:shakes head:
