Gun Metallic 370z spotted recklessly racing in Northridge, CA with G37
Last night I spotted a Gun Metallic 370z recklessly racing against a white 4-door G37 with red wheels in Northridge, CA. They were racing North on Tampa St. all the way up to the 118 Freeway. They were racing constantly from a roll on 5 different occasions. I believe they were reaching speed close to 100 MPH on a 35 street. And no, I did not chase them. I'm not 100% sure but the driver of the 370z may happen to be a CSUN student. I couldn't confirm his exhaust but I believe it was Ark exhaust.
*Note to the @ss hat owner of the GM 370z and G37* If I see you recklessly driving in my city one more time, I will report your @ss to the police. You're lucky I couldn't get your plate down due to the dark. |
Good thing I don't live near you. It's not that I drive like a fool, like the person above. I just don't like people who are snitches.
Would I tell him off if I got the chance, Yeap. |
Jay. I support you bro. Call 'em. Nothing wrong with reporting any wrong doing. Cops need help catching the bad guys. Remember San Bernardino? Neighbors should have reported suspicious activity but never did. I use Tampa each day I go to work and have seen a fair amount of accidents there.

Similar thing in Indianapolis last week had an unfortunate ending.
The driver of the Mustang "floored it" as it overtook the Corvette, the report said. With that last burst of speed, the Mustang flipped over the median, and crashed into a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer that was traveling north in the 4500 block of South East Street on the Southside. The impact killed a family of three that rode in the Trailblazer, including a 12-year-old girl. http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/9e10...9-DSC-0125.JPG |

RIP to that family, tired of all these stupid ***** giving enthusiasts and a bad rep

Most cops get it...if you want to kill yourself go right ahead and do it, but if you are going to involve others then you got to suffer the consequences.
Be safe as an adrenaline rush has nothing to do with being stupid!!! Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk |

The Mustang driver had 3 other people in the car including a 10 year old? :shakes head: Also, I call BS on the Vette losing. |

also 100mph in a mustang = unsafe because it's a mustang and most are driven by retards.
100mph in a Z = safe. the z feels solid and planted even at speeds well over 100mph. OP I understand your concern but no one likes a snitch. :shakes head: |

i get egged into speeding all the time... i mash my gas until 5 over and then hold my speed. most of the time these guys can push 2 pedals really well but can't handle a non-straight line maneuver. take a spirited corner and see if they can hold / close the gap. |
The people that think you are a snitch are probably the same people that believe they can text and drive safely. There is a time and place for everything and going 100mph in a 35mph zone is not one of them! Safety of other road users or pedestrians should be the first thing on any legally responsible driver's mind. If you do this type of thing or believe people who care are snitches, than you have total disregard for human life. I just hope some innocent bystander is not harmed by your actions.

I do my 100+ on highways like an adult :tiphat: |
Started driving a wrecker when I was 16. That did enough for me to understand even the best built car in with the best driver can get really ****** up going to fast on the street. Tracks generally don't have cracks, uneven spots, or random stuff running out. Keep it off the streets. If not for your own safety do it for the other people on the road.
|
u should all drive RC cars.
|
Incidents like these would be best overlooked if left on a highway, a 35MPH zone is a 35MPH zone for a reason no car has a stopping capacity thats appropriate going 100+ nor reaction time, if you did manage to screw up then you just may be the next person who is ousted on the interwebs and in some cases such as the Mustang guy, an expensive and life ruining lesson

i see lots of stupid Z drivers out here in LA. I just see a lot of stupid drivers period.

More people die doing the speed limit than any amount of racing been done on the streets.
What about the millions of people who walk out of bars on a daily/nightly basis intoxicated as hell and get right behind the wheel and drive, does anyone report that? I never speed on the streets, but on the highway it's a different story. I don't buy High Performance cars to cruise around doing the speed limit all the time, but I do practice discretion and keep the safety of others in mind when I do choose or choose not to engage. I see both points, but know this............. street racing and reckless driving will never stop, just like intoxicated azzholes behind the wheels won't. Maybe the OP loves his entire community, I know I'd be pissed if some azzhat came flying through my subdivision where it's clearly marked 25 mph and look out for children, different........... maybe, but that's how he probably cares about his whole city, IDK, just saying. |
:icon18:There are people who illegally street race, therefore it is ok to street race. Great logic!

a little speeding and terrorism. wtf? how are those even in the same ballpark?! if I see a shady muslim neighbor i'm alerting someone and if they don't do anything put two in em yourself. someone speeding a bit having a little fun in life i'm cool with it. now 100 on a 25/35 area is a bit stupid and as I said earlier keep it on the highway if you're hitting 3 digits. |

Really a 100mph safe on this street? For who? http://www.the370z.com/members/2011-...0526-tampa.jpg The streets are not a race track, how planted is your car when you go over an oil slick some old beater dropped on the road. How planted is the Z going over a 2x4 that fell of the back of a truck. |

I said keep the triple digit stuff on the highway. please read what I say before coming to battle. |
side note.......in the end that's a really straight road. :stirthepot:

I've picked up much better built cars than ours destroyed on the five for "driving safely over 100 on the highway ." You still have debris, bumps, cracks, uneven pavement, and other drivers to unstick you no matter how well the car is built because its a public highway not being upkept for safe conditions if driving past posted speed limits. Not saying I've never done it, on the weekends I've got a 100 mile commute home on a straight highway and because the car feels the same at 60 as 100 I've crept up. But trying to justify it as safe or responsible, GTFO.

very capable driver. open highway with minimal traffic. yea seems pretty reasonable to me. did I say go do this at rush hour with many other drivers on the road? no. don't be an idiot and take it as so. :shakes head: |
Ibtl....

It's all fun till you hit that oil, pothole, or debris on the highway at triple digits. Those jersey barriers don't keep you on the right side of the highway at those speeds they launch you into the air.

just because you're from jersey doesn't mean you're good enough for buddy Christ.... :shakes head: |
i think he just wants to say that he's a great driver.

To say I do it because I want to do it and to hell with every thing else that's fine. To try to justify it as safe? I'm not going to buy that one.
These cars have amazing abilities all in all for the price, and I'm sure you are a stellar driver, but on the **** roads around here a lot of the ability of the driver and build of the car will quickly be taken out of the equation after 100 MPH road inconsistentencies you never saw until it was too late. Personally I'll keep those speeds to track days and hope many others will do the same. In my experience the driver doing 120 in a road buiilt race car doesn't get messed up its the family of 4 in the mini van he hits or runs off the road that gets destroyed. |

No.. of course not Is it fun? Yes... It is! Is it illegal? Yes.. It is! Morale of the thread: Speeding is a fun unsafe illegal activity. but its all on the driver to know his or her limits and to accept personal responsibility for his or her actions. I'll be honest, I've pulled 167 on a highway in spirited driving, just having the bolt on mods I do, and a very minimal tune (taking speed limiter and rev limiter off nothing performance wise) Did I think I was an idiot after doing so thinking of the possible consequences, Yeah a bit. DID I ENCOUNTER A PROBLEM WITH A CONSEQUENCE? NO... WHY? because although pretty much redlining in 6th gear I have the technique and know how to not flip my Z. You say well what about a crack or dip in the road.. Well when I did the 167 pull. And when I was letting the engine revolutions decline and the car decelerate, at about 135 I did hit a quick dip in the road and it sent my back end to the right in a fishtail... OMG!!!! Going 135 and hit a dip and now im fishtailing.. what do I do??? ohh... that's right turn into the drift and even out the car. DUHH! Did I survive? yes, Did anyone else get hurt, no. Could I have flipped over the median and into oncoming traffic like the mustang Yes. Did I? no Why? Because I knew how to handle the car in a certain situation. Honestly if you get a car that is street legal and can go over 100mph, the driver should have to take a professional drifting and driving course. So they know what to do in a situation like these as well. But if you're a hard asss and keep on the fact that you should only go 80mph max, you are like Crossfitters. Only talk. |
