Jcasti the question is are you going to miss the stang's powerplant when you step into the Z and "fire up" a 2 litre turbo?

The driving dynamics is one of the reasons I still have my Z. Yes it could use a little more power compared to these giant domestic v8s, but ill be damned if I dont have a smile on my face everytime I drive it. The only car I want right now as a replacement is the Cayman.

Only thing of Ford I would consider is the GT350R. But no A/C and Radio sucks.

Driving a brick on wheels suxs....

Yeah, I know..kind of in a tough spot . Two of the biggest reasons that I traded the Z in for the Q60 was AWD and the idea that I wouldn't have to buy another winter beater. I was trying to be somewhat "sensible" by investing in only one car. I still have my winter beater but it will probably need replacing in the near future. Another is my driveway is too steep so I can't even park a Z in my own garage. I was a little surprised that the Q60 had enough clearance. (I have the sport package so the front bumper sits la little lower)

Spy shots of the Q60 just came out a few days ago..not quite sure how I feel about the car yet :ugh2:.

The lines on the new Q60 actually looks quite good for me. Living in California is great owning the Z since I don't have to get a winter beater and I can drive it year round.

The 370 is pretty much identical to the G37 under the skin and people drive those all year round?

Well, most people that live in areas that get heavy snow will put their Z in storage and get a second car to drive in the snow. They are identical but drive differently. To me anyways.

Yes and no. The G is heavier, slightly less powerful, has back seats, downgraded suspension, narrower wheels, and downgraded brakes. I think it comes with all-season tires too, but I could be wrong; I never cared enough about 4-door cars to find out.;)

So it's the Suspension that makes you miss the nismo, or? I've been considering a new 5.0

I guess the question is more along the lines of- will aftermarket parts make it a better-overall car, or are u talking in a sence of (feelings)

Missing my Nismo

Imo there're too many Mustangs on the road.. even though I love the new redesign. I get compliments all the time with my 14 Nismo. One lady asked me if its a new sports car, I said No it's a Z and it's been out since '09. She was shocked lol. Even little kids in my neighborhood give me thumbs up when I drive through. At the end of the day, don't we all want to be noticed? That's why we buy sports cars right? It's not to lug around groceries and doing errands ;)

Edit: Unless you need a sports car with back seats that is..

I considered the new mustang as well but it's not just the suspension that makes the Z car a Z...its everything about it. You can tackle corners and winding mountain roads out of the factory in a Z which you really can't in a mustang. Plus, you get more notice driving in the streets in a Z than in a mustang cause I mean let's face it everyone has seen a mustang.

Out of the factory the Z is great money spent for what you get for it.

I've had her for about 6 months now as a daily driver and I drive her 150+ miles a day and not everyday do I not get in my car and tell her I love her and snuggle into her seat. Just the other day I took a curve on the sierra highway going at 80 miles an hour and I just could not get the grin outta my face.

And the reliability is incredible to me for such a sports car. I was planning on getting the new revamped mustang but once I test drove the Z I just fell in love.

Were you driving up hwy 50 by any chance?

I know the feeling. I was angry with my 09' to the 3 csc failures, sold it, bought a 2010 Challenger RT and felt like I was driving a cross between a sofa and an RV. Way too big for me. I am not anti-Mopar, I have a 68 Barracuda and other goodies but I really missed a sports car: small, light, 2 door, 2 seats. I had the Challenger for 11 months and finally traded it on a 15' Z. I'm all smiles.

Glad to see this thread. I am saving up for a 16 Nismo right now and have been looking at the 5.0 or the new SS. I have gone back to the Ford dealer a few times thinking am I going to pay the same for a Z thats an old platform and less power but I am pretty sold on the Nismo.

I just sold my older Camaro SS and wanted a sports car again so thats why I wanna get the Z even if its long in the tooth to some extent. I have the same feelings on the new SS and 5.0 they have all this power but are not true drivers cars. More of a muscle car that handles good but doesnt have that feedback we want from a sports car.
