Seriously, it does. I remember flying around an interchange from one freeway to another, noticed a motorbike cop on the freeway I was merging into and threw it into neutral to quiet the car (as most 6MT with non-SRM do...) and it blipped the throttle to 6200 and got the cops attention. :icon17:
I paced him enough so that we were doing the speed limit and got the Mutumbo finger-wag (no, no, no!) as he exited the freeway. :icon17: :icon17:
So SRM did the opposite and almost got me in trouble!
If you're at low RPM (say, cruising in 6th) and shift to neutral, usually it won't blip though.
