Anyone else use it to make cool exhaust noises when they go into neutral cruising around town apart from regular downshift notes xD

Mine does that sometimes, I'll be slowing down so I put it in neutral and it blips itself for no reason.

Same, I think it's expecting the downshift so it auto-blips, or it's just barely hitting the gear position switch.

At any decent speed (or enough for proper down shifts) if you go to nuetral, and can slid the shifter left (like going to first) but dont put it in gear or anything, and it blips. You can do this as much as you want lol given rpms...

vrooom...... pop in nuetral......tap the shifter left a few times, vroom, vroom pop pop, vroom, Something like that. It's neat. Unless my car is broken and its not supposed to do that hahahaha,

mines does this as well, when i pop into neutral and wiggle the shifter

I got the upgraded package that came with a foot pedal that does something similar.

when I first test drove a 370z the car did this and I thought there was something wrong with it. lol. then after driving 2 others I realized it was normal so I contacted the dealer of this first car to tell him i'd buy it but by that time there was a down payment on it. things worked out because the z I bought, even tho I paid more, it was loaded and I know i'm happier because of it having touring, sport and nav as opposed to being just a 'base'.

i noticed on one of my downshifts during my hard driving the rpm shot higher than should have. probably thought i was going to double down shift or something. durp.

Seriously, it does. I remember flying around an interchange from one freeway to another, noticed a motorbike cop on the freeway I was merging into and threw it into neutral to quiet the car (as most 6MT with non-SRM do...) and it blipped the throttle to 6200 and got the cops attention. :icon17:

I paced him enough so that we were doing the speed limit and got the Mutumbo finger-wag (no, no, no!) as he exited the freeway. :icon17: :icon17:

So SRM did the opposite and almost got me in trouble!

If you're at low RPM (say, cruising in 6th) and shift to neutral, usually it won't blip though.

That being said, I hate that the SRM does that when shifting to neutral, it's almost embarrassing. People think you're revving at them. :icon17:

what? i just rev neutral to do it for ***** and giggles.


or if they're driving slow i'll slowly rev up my 1st gear so it gets louder and louder. then shift as fast as i can into 4th :bowrofl:

i need to stop doing that lol

Though, there's this short tunnel on the way home that, if I have room, I will downshift and plow through just to hear myself. Never speeding though.

^^ Tunnel blasts are the best. I do this daily in any of my cars as my commute includes a tunnel leading to the hwy exit, there and back same route

Hahaha your all too cool xD I can't help it. It's too much fun to pop in neutral and by hand alone blip the revs for some neat downshift notes :)

i do it all the time... in fact i'll even slow down so i can sit in 2nd and then VROOOOOOOMMMMMM
