I live in L.A County and I'm running without front plates, although I know it's a matter of time before I get cited for not having them :ugh:

Despite all this, I still can't bring myself to drill the bumper to do so nor do I like the Stillen adapter either.

Front plates look so ugly in any car!

I am not running one but I left my windows untinted because of this. I feel like you can get away with one or the other in my area but with both your asking for a ticket.

Having been a law enforcement officer, TerribleONE is spot on. If you have multiple things wrong you will be cited for at least one depending on your attitude lol.

I haven't had a problem with not having a front plate. I also have all my windows tinted including windshield.

I'm glad we don't have to run stupid front plates here in Tennessee.

Hotrodz 11-09-2015 10:58 AM

In AZ they did away with it years ago as a cost savings measure. One of those rare times when the government got it right.

in ontario we need to. quebec you don't and some of the maritimes provinces you don't either. so you can have cars coming from quebec without the front plate or vice versa. i think it should be country wide uniform.

with our without doesn't matter just make sure it's the same.

No front and rear plate, no cats, all windows tinted 15% going on 3 years and zero ***** given. When the time comes I'll deal with it :D

Same way I run it. I have had cops pull me over and talk to me about my car because well 1 of 2 things... they like cars or they are taking pictures and getting my license plate info and putting me on blast at the station lol. EITHER way I have not had one word said to me about not having a front license plate. Tint is a lot more obvious because it is impeding the officer from seeing you in your vehicle. A front license plate on the other hand, I don't know an officer who uses the front plate or even walks to the front of the car in a citation. I have only been pulled over a handful of times (can count on 1 hand) and only have been given one ticket for talking on the cell and driving. But at least talking on the cell is better than texting. When you talking yeah you have 1 hand on the wheel but at least your paying attention to what is in front of you not what you are typing. Back to the point though, if you don't draw extra needed attention something's will get overlooked.

The other thing to consider is if a cop is looking for a reason to pull you over...say he thinks you may be under the influence, then he has a reason for the stop.

As the saying goes there are only choices and consequences!

I am a CA resident and have not had a front plate on one of my cars since 1982. Only once have I received a ticket (not on my 370Z), and it was a real chickensh*t one at that. I lived in a school zone that was heavily traffic enforced and so was always very careful driving in my neighborhood. A motorcycle officer had a van pulled over and was writing a ticket. As I approached, at about 22 MPH, the cop stepped out into the street, pointed at me and then pointed at the curb in front of the van. I thought WTF, I wasn't speeding. He proceeded to write me up for no front plate. I put the plate on, got the ticket signed off, paid the fine and went home and removed the plate. No problems since, and I have had a couple of speeding infractions since then too.

It just depends on where you live in CA. In Riverside, the police would submit tickets for no front plates on cars parked in front of the courthouse.

Pretty chickens@#t, but I suppose they need the revenue.
