where do i begin... oh jesus. you are so lucky the cops weren't called because you could have been charged for stunting and we all know how but hurt you would be.

but seriously it's cold out, your traction is not going to be optimal, and you're trying to do advanced driving with your mentally regressed brain. too bad money can't buy you smart.

take it to a shop/dealer. report it to your insurance, pay your deductible and enjoy a huge hike in your premium next renewal.

Very disappointed in myself... worked really hard to get this car. Luckily I'm not in school at the moment working 60 hours a week so if the repair is 2-4k I can pay it off in less than a month.

The situation really sucks.

Part of life is learning from good (positives) and bad (negatives) situations. Nice to see you are owning to your mistake and keeping a positive attitude. Hope things work out for you.

shouldn't have stopped respecting it still! one of the things you have to remember is wet roads are a lot different than having cold temps.

everyone has their own preferences in regards to the VDC. the thing is to always stay humble on your skills.

get the car fixed up and if you're going to drive it in winter get some snow tires + sand bags in the hatch.

Hello again everyone,

Just heard back from the mechanic. So far he said he`s figured out all of the problems but he`s still going to have another mechanic look at it:

Both rims are scratched and bent - he has sent them for repair to see if they are still repairable. He said each rim costs $1100 brand new.

The fender and the frame thing under the door that goes all the way to the back will be another $1200 to repair without the paint. ()

There is also a rod bent on the back wheel which needs to be put replaced - $400.

Suspension so far seems to be ok unless the other mechanic says theres a problem.

Everything is what I thought it would be, but can someone please shed some light on the rims.

I like the rims specially the ones in the back as they are `staggered` and really go in with the depth, but 1100 for one rim seems too much. I found some cool rims here for half the price for one: Wheels Tires Rims - Custom Car Truck Chrome Discount Cheap

Any information on rims please... I was going to get a new set of rims anyways and use the old ones for winter. Please advise, as I don`t want to spend $2400 just for 2 rims.

Thanks!! Pretty happy nothing serious has come out yet and everything seems cosmetic.

Contact Jomer at FBNissan for best price on new rims. Alternatively, look for a set on the forum. The sport rims typically sell around 7-800 for a used set in reasonably good condition. You can sell your other two or keep them around as spares

Hi vooshhz.
Check for wheels on craigslist and kijiji in the GTA. I believe there are a few sets for sale. Also. I understand that the parts team at Brantford Nissan give certain discounts to Z owners, like 10%-20% off. Give them a call.

Hey,

I looked around, this looks good:

370Z Winter Tires and Mag Rims

Gives me winter tires AND rims for the price of 1 rim.

This will give me time to save some money for some new rims and tires for the summer.

Any suggestions about the above link?

Go out there and check them carefuly yourself. Make sure the sidewalls are not punctured. The wheels are not OE but aftermarket cast aluminum 18". Not a big deal for winter package.

Often times when a vehicle slides into a curb, the wheel bearings are damaged. This does not appear immediately so once repaired if you hear some noise (or leaking from the rear axle) it very well could be the wheel bearing(s) that was damaged.

Ok, I will ask the mechanic about this. Do you have any idea if this is a costly repair

You are looking at a lot more than a few grand. This car doesnt just let you fix it. Everything that is damaged needs replaced and its all part of the unibody. A truck hit my z on friday. It was parked and just the quarter panel. $3200. No wheel damage either. Its hard to tell but the gas door is crushed and her azz is flat lol. Along with that white is a bitch to paint match.

Just come up with the list of parts required and try to buy them used. You can pick up a set of Nismo wheels (used) with tires for less than $2k.
