I just did mine. Tour & sport package, it was not pre wired. It is very easy and would not pay to have it done if you have a little bit of experience playing around.

Hardest part was disconnecting the wire harness from the box. It is on the passenger side under the dash. The connector was a little bit hard to get off and in a hard to reach place.

I would also recommend you have a cable snake to route the cable from the passenger side over to the driver side. Mine had a about a 1/2" space to slide the wire through. Cable snake made it very easy.

I just did mine as well the other night. Like Bulaman, the hardest part was disconnecting the wiring harness. Those things are on there really good, and obviously for a good reason. But that also makes it difficult to unplug.

According to the directions, you should pull the carpeting of the passenger-side floor board back, and then route the wiring through the front of the center console. I tried this and was unable to find a spot to route through the front of the center console. Instead, I did like Bulaman did too, routing through the tight spot in the back of the center console. I didn't have a cable snake... I used electrical tape and wrapped it around the end of the wire, and attached that to one end of a chopstick. Just pushed it through the small opening in the back of the center console, and it just pops out the other side.

Also, when you're attaching that plastic plug into the back of the kick plate, make sure you line it up correctly with the holes in your door frame. Pushing the plastic plug all the way into the slot in the kick plate did NOT line up well with my door frame.

OVerall the job is not hard at all. Hardest part is definitely the connector. And I wish I didn't waste time pulling back the passenger-side carpet and trying to figure out how to route it through the front of the center console.

Nice MacGyver chopstick trick!!

That wording on the instructions was crap. I sat there looking at it for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out what I was missing. Finally decided I wasn't missing anything because you would have to pull out the console to run it through the front of it....unless they meant the front of the car. That would make no sense because the pictures were from the perspective of a person sitting in it. Oh, well it was pretty easy. Wife thinks I am a dork for doing it....cool friends see it and say "ooooh nice!"

I WANT THOSE LEDs IN THE HEADLIGHTS!!!!

Auto-Windows

SoCal.... Thanks for the auto-window note. I installed my illum. kickplates over the weekend. Tonight I started washing the car and noticed the driver window down a bit, I jumped in started it up, rolled it up, shut it off, jumped out, watched the window drop, shut the door and the darn thing didn't go back up. So I sat there and played with the door switch and the window just went down with each press of the button. This should fix it, I was worried I might've pushed a pin on the connector during the install. The only 2 options my Z didn't have upon purchase was the illum. kickplates and the carpeted trunk mat, which I had him order when I purchased. He sold me the kickplates below invoice for $128. So now my Touring Z Sport/Nav 6MT has every factory option on it.

They look crap. Better to go with stainless steel or aluminium plates, looks better.
