Maybe i am a ricer but i like how the Tiberons looks. I love how the gensis looks. If i wasnt such a Z fan boy and my 350z wasnt so dam good to me i would probably be driving a gen coupe.

THE ONLY THING I REGRET about the base is the lack of heated seats... its a sports car.. you are not going to be changing the seat positions... you dont need bluetooth- ******* drive the car not have a car-ference... seriously... you get a Z cus you want a car that makes you grin wider than the turn you just took 3x faster than the car behind you... Good luck w/ the genisis... I would have gotten the 2.0T if I were about to track it... And Im sorry to say this but the fact of the matter is... a Z is more of a track car than a genisis... you will end up spending FAR more than an oil cooler in your geni if you wanna track it...

heh, settle down bud, you just described personal preference, maybe what you like isn't what he likes? And he has a better car for the money (Besides power) than you do. Thats why you cant compare your car to his. You have to compare a loaded 370z with his loaded genesis. I dont care if you paid 10k less than him, its not the same if you don't have the same options.

I would personally not mind getting the Genesis coupe. I did consider it and strongly thought about purchasing it so that I would have 10k more in my bank.

in the long run I chose against it because the name "Hyundai" has not become known for reliability "yet". They are on the right road, and They will probably surpass many of the best brands out there soon, but until it happens....

good luck in your new car!

Car looks darn good in this pic but as soon as you see the head lights and front bumper......... The thought changes

I traded my 350z for a Genesis Coupe V6 and after about 6 months I traded the Genesis in for my 370. It's definitely a nice car for the money, but as time went on, I became more and more disappointed in the performance of the Gen. Not that the performance is bad, but I guess I was just expecting more. Having driven both, the Z betters the Genesis in pretty much every performance metric. That being said, the Genesis does have a lot of potential, so congrats on the purchase.

A tad OT... I notice the new McLaren is taking some cues from the Genesis Coupe. I don't think anyone can go wrong with the Genesis Coupe. It is leagues ahead of the Tiburon. That's quite an evolution.

IMO, I don't think the 350Z and 370Z has much "Z" passion put into it compared to the 300ZX and prior generations. However, I do get a better sense of "Z" passion in the 370Z than the 350Z. The NISMO 350Z had some sort of passion put into it, but I don't quite see much effort with the NISMO 370Z. Look at the previous generation GT-Rs and the NISMO variants... now that's something worth owning.

Ya know that the Tiburon was a Pininfarina design right? I've looked the the Tiburon, I think I'm bias against it because it is a Hyundai, but a closer look at the exterior, it is not a bad looking car

I too considered the Genesis, but couldn't be happier with my Z. Good luck and congrats!

I looked at the gen coupe....but could NOT get past the fact that its still a Hyundai. Maybe that makes me an elitist a$$? I don't know...but I just could not pull the trigger on a Hyundai....ever...or a Kia...

Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion and is based on real feelings I had when cross shopping cars. Just being honest. I'm not saying its right :)

Agreed. Spend a year in Korea, you wont want to be near anything Hyundai, Kia, Daewoo, Ssangyong, Samsung, LG, the list goes on, EVERY car on the street is a hyundai.

agreed.

and lets not forget, i love the 370. would have bought it if the guy could make the numbers work like he had said previously. i like the extra 25 HP and the way it can rip around corners. its a great car.

but I dont love it 10k more then the gen coupe. and lets not forget Hyundai's 10 year powertrain warranty.

that was the point. few things i like about the gen coupe over the Z and a few things i like about the Z over the gen coupe but in the end the price difference was to much for what really is a similar car in many ways.

i think this is a pretty good and funny review.

it addresses the side where people say "i cant buy a Hyundai" etc.. its a fair review with positives and negatives.

Anyway, walked out thinking I was going to go to the next nissan dealer. Decided to walk right next door to the hyundai dealership the whole time dismissing the Gen Coupe in my mind. Saw it in pics and it was ugly. Let me tell ya, in person it looks a helluva lot better especially the track model with the 19 inch wheels and red brembo's. Car comes with pretty much everything. Heated leather seats, Touch screen Nav, bluetooth, climate control, shift paddles, push button start, HID lights, limited slip dif, brembos, track suspension, 312 horsepower (with premium Fuel) and the list goes on all for $31,500. I was pretty amazed at the quality of this car and how well equipped it is for its price point.

Still I said, this thing probably drives like a heap of sh*t. Had to give it a good test drive. Took it out and surprise surprise this thing can move and takes the corners very nicely. The shift paddles are very responsive and the Brembos bring you to a stop in a hurry. Its a little harsh on the shitty jersey roads because of its track setup but that is to be expected. 0-60 comes in at about 5.8 seconds. Not quite as fast as the Z but honestly its still damn quick. It has a better exhaust sound then the Z also. A nice deep pur when you hit the gas. The Z is a bit harsh sounding. The interior is nicer then the Z. No doubt about it. Its immediately obvious when you get in, different league. I do wish that it had 25-30 more HP to match the Z in speed but those numbers are more bragging rights then anything because you cant even come close to pushing the Gen Coupe to its limits on the street. None the less, that extra 25 HP would help me match you guys on the track.

It all comes down to this, I love the 370z its a great car. But with the genesis coupe 3.8 track I get pretty much everything the Z has at almost 10 grand less!! I just could not justify the Z after driving the Genesis Coupe.

:tiphat: :driving:

So what are you going to do with your Porsche Turbo?
