They've been saying this for a while now.

It won't hurt my feelings if my Z goes down in the books as the greatest Z of all-time. I feel even better about my purchase.

My bad. I looked and didn't see another thread when I posted this. But I am glad to be a proud owner of a 370Z, no matter what the Z car turns into in the future.

like my Z, it would be a shame to see the Z line alter like that, but the article did say that a z390, would be too close to the GTR, They should just take it back to a z240 with a small v6

If it's true it'll make it real easy to not own the next one. Maybe I'll be able to retire some day after all. Will save me a ton of $$$.

Except that most enthusiasts would say the 370z isn't the best z of all time ...

I hope this means our cars' resale values will shoot up and it becomes something of an s2000-ish "modern classic".

Just sent a message to Nissan condemning this rumor as straight-up blasphemy. Not that it'll do any good, but I feel better.

Yeah, because that's how nostalgia works.
I'm sure many would also claim the new z28 isn't the best of all time either, and they'd still be wrong.
