I actually received a response from Nissan. Albeit, a canned one, which is to be expected. I do have to say that I thought it would take weeks to receive a reply, if at all.

^^ Wow, I can't believer Nissan actually responded so quickly.

Wait, so is this rumor true?

UNKNOWN_370 09-01-2015 02:43 AM

They must know we mad

AntiVenom 09-01-2015 06:42 AM

I really hope they just kill the Z line instead of bastardizing it this way.

When I bought my Z 6 yrs ago, I did think if I missed this gen I would probably never own a Z. I guess my hunch may be sound afterall.. :ugh:

Sounds like its OVER for sports coupes. Read below!

Seems like everyone is adding SUV's of all sizes. Look at Honda & Lincoln.

That's another reason I bought the Z now, because I figured the next one would by a 4 cylinder hybrid or eliminated. As a Honda fan, I'm disgusted with Honda's lack of sports cars.

“We need to take another path. I feel Z needs more revolution than evolution.” 1.6-litre turbo!

"350Z, 370Z, I don't think the next one will be 390Z. It's not growing, it's already big enough. I don't think we should go any higher, maybe go backwards."

MagmaRed370z 09-01-2015 08:38 AM

If this is true, then I will keep my current 370z forever. Resale values will go up. Crossover? Really? This is a disgrace to Z heritage.

kenchan 09-01-2015 08:55 AM

they going to call it Zuke?

:ugh2:

mishuko 09-01-2015 09:05 AM

i hope they don't make it look like the velocitaraptor from hyundai although the rumor mill has been strong in this one.

i ALMOST want to trade up for the new nismo except 3 problems.

1) artificial sound/dampening/engine pumping thru speakers
2) trading with very little equity
3) having to remove then re-install my stillen breathers

meh not worth it. i'll just get a m2 for the next car or something lol

90s babies are starting to have the same effect on the auto industry as they did on the music industry.

I fear literature is next up on their unholy path to destruction.

:p

Of all things the Z can become? It's an embarrassment to the sports car world. I suddenly respect Honda and Toyota for just killing their sports cars in the late 90's early 2000, instead of embarrassing and shaming their loyalists with this type of news.

Maybe it's just a negative rumor to push customers into a Z before its too late? I dunno. But this is disgusting, nauseating and shameful.

Firebase99 09-01-2015 09:29 AM

This is hilarious. This is like making a C7 Vette a RWD saloon car. Aint gonna happen. WAY too much history in the Z line.

MagmaRed370z 09-01-2015 10:16 AM

40 years of Sports Car heritage with the Z. I just don't get it. I understand making it powerful and stealing sales from the GTR, but even at 400HP its not in GTR territory.
