Gee, give the guy a break! It's not like he's trying to sell you something. I swear, this is why I left the Evo forum...

Didn't your mother tell you if you didn't have anything nice to say..... (fill in the blank...)

Roger, over and out....

I just spoke with my Midwest Consumer Affairs rep yesterday. I explained that some of the Infiniti line-up is experiencing the ringing noise as well. She went accross the hallway and found out they have been reporting it too and are working on the solution.

Unfortunately, she did not know anything about a TSB coming, but then again, it seems like she really didn't pry heavily into the issue. She just stated that they are aware, and working on the problem. We'll see what happens. Her advice was to check back with my dealer if a fix comes out, and if not, my service advisor will call me. I guess we'll see what happens. Sorry I don't have much more info on the situation. I just told her to be aware this is a problem for a lot of us and to document that another complaint has come in. Now... the waiting game.

Who said anything derogatory? I'm just saying there's no TSB out, otherwise it would be ALL OVER THE PLACE. This guy started a thread making a claim there is one, and well, where is it?

So calling someone a troll isn't derogatory? Gee, I guess I missed that day in Sunday school...

Whatever... have a great day!

tcarretti 11-03-2009 10:00 AM

BTW...

If you didn't say anything derogatory, why did you assume that my post was directed at you... I never mentioned your name....

Later

Troll, as defined by Urban Dictionary:
Quote:

A person who posts to a forum or other form of online communication to disrupt or cause widespread argument.
I guess you're new to the internet. It's OK.

Simple deduction mixed with assumption.

Earlier this week I got a call from a local dealer about a Z exactly like i was looking for, but used with 2k miles. I decided to check it out and guess what? It has the ecu problem. I didn't notice it at first since it's non-existant to quiet when the car is first turned on, but after about 2 minutes it's noticable. It actually bothered my ears and after the test drive my ears had the feeling you get after being exposed to loud noises. I thought some of the people on the board were exagerating, but I now I understand what they were talking about.

Neither salesperson I was with could hear it and I'm actually surprised I could since my younger days were filled with with excessive loud noises.

I would've bought the car if I knew that a fix was coming out, but we don't know that. We just know Nissan is aware of the issue and is working on it.

I forgot to add that I sat in another Z on the lot and it didn't make the noise. The only difference between the two was the nav system.

So did anybody else hear about this TSB? I have the exact same high pitched noise problem, but last time I visited my dealer, they didn't know about any TSB yet. The tech did hear and confirm the noise though. It is starting to drive me nuts. It's exactly as described before, turn my head to the left and I hear it.

I hope you don't choose a different car simply because of a high pitched whine.

Solution: add CBE to your HFCs. Louder exhaust = less high pitched noise noticed. :)

But then there's the "hissing" problem - if it's not one thing it's another...

KillerBee370 11-05-2009 10:03 AM

High frequency noise? I wouldn't hear that shizzle over my exhaust anyway. :icon17:

:icon18: True, I hear it less now that I have the HFC's, but it's still there. And I think that HFC+CBE= too loud for me...

True as well, but at least the hiss is not constantly there.
