PLX Kiwi OBDII reader
They have a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth version for code checks and live gauges.

I use an Automatic:

Faster refresh rates and increased number of simultaneous data signals cost more $$$.

If you just want to scan codes, the PLX Kiwi will do the job, but for any of the cool real-time monitoring possible with Torque or similar apps, OBDLink is the only way to go. i was able to pick my OBDLinkMX or $125 a year ago and it's down to $90 now on Amazon.

if one's just reading and clearing codes, just get a basic one. no need for bt fancy.
i have actron from like 15yrs ago. works fine. dat said, my z's nuvi has ecoroute (was it?) hooked up for real-time gauges (wirelessly ofcourse).
