Actually I love my car, but at 50k miles my cpu has gone out, my CMC has gone out, my trunk locked one day and i had to take it to the dealership so they could unlock it and replace the entire locking mechanism.. and just today I've become a victim of the infamous steering lock failure.

luckily this has all been covered by my extended warranty, and although I've seen other members have it worse I think I'm done with my Z. I guess it may be ok to some, and I know nothing is perfect but at 50k it just sucks. I mean come on the cpu went out at 11k!.. I once had a honda at 300k miles and it never let me down. I guess I'm pissed off because I went out to lunch from work and the steering wheel failed at carls jr so i had to uber my *** back to work. lol.

So I was considering trading it in for a fiat abarth :bowrofl: yeah I know change of pace.. its cool if you all hate lol, its not exactly a NISMO.. but I'm always open to other options haha.

I have to ask..... Why do you still have steering lock? This has been a known issue with a simple fix for years.

I hate this car

Dude mine has like 93k miles on it and I have no issues :) SO FAR! I don't know if the previous owner had any but hey maybe your just in the unlucky batch? A little turbulence didn't hurt anyone :) it's all experience I mean think of it like this.

You got your girl right? And just because you get into arguments or have small little disagreements doesn't mean your gonna go replace her immediately, right? No you work through it, you suffer together, you learn together, you learn to hate each other and from there you learn to love each other. You begin to cherish all the times you spent together and EVERYTHING you've learned together right? TOGETHER through EVERYTHING.

No one has ever put up with you for that long but her, she's been there and you've been there, you're comrades! It's the same thing man. You're gonna get rid of the baby who has sat through it all with you and yes she gave a headache but **** she got you to point B in good time! She brought the thrill! She carried you all the way. When you turn her on, she returns the favor... Love your Z for your Z has loved you brother u.u

Then they press the caliper pistons in during install and wonder why brake fluid spews out all over the engine bay.:rofl2:

So real quick since you mentioned this, I checked my pads and They have a lot of life in them but my breaks squeak like crazy.. You guys think its the rotors? should i get new ones or resurface?

well you can't argue with the gf analogy! lol loved your post man

So I've put a lot of thought into this and I think ill end up keeping her. You all made great points which I had not realized. Every damm part that has failed has been replaced and in theory I should have a smoother sailing from here on out. And HOPEFULLY hit another 50k without any major issues. So I really do appreciate everyones advice, she may have been up on craigslist right now if it wasn't for you guys. lol :tiphat:

still want a fiat Abarth though, its cute. Yes, its cute, I said it. :icon14: lol.

Well, if your extended warranty only covered for a factory replacement csc, you can count on it crapping again :D

You could always trade her in for a flatbed and start making bank off other Z owners. :stirthepot:

My clutch sank to the floor Thursday night July 2nd...was almost to the friends house I was dropping off luckily. Only bad part is for whatever reason when I popped it into neutral and strolled up in front of her house the tranny was still in second but my shifter was locked in to neutral. 0.o

Still sitting at a shop waiting to be diagnosed.

Sorry to hear of all your problems. Your CSC going out if fairly common, extended warranty came in handy for you. But why didn't you pull your steering wheel lock fuse?

Every car has their problems be it Nissan or anyone else.

First and cheapest fix is take the calipers apart and re-apply brake grease to all contact points (except pad/rotor interface of course). If it doesn't go away, then maybe start throwing money at it.

ok so check it out

csc failed, took it to get replaced....... and then it failed at the dealership! :bowrofl: I was like,

Me- "hey, did you guys fix anything? my clutch isn't right"
tech-"yes sir, brand new csc and we test drove it to make sure everything was good"
Me- "well if you don't mind, take a seat in my car again"
tech-"Shiit..."

had to leave it over night, the new one failed in less than 24 hours lol
