You got your girl right? And just because you get into arguments or have small little disagreements doesn't mean your gonna go replace her immediately, right? No you work through it, you suffer together, you learn together, you learn to hate each other and from there you learn to love each other. You begin to cherish all the times you spent together and EVERYTHING you've learned together right? TOGETHER through EVERYTHING.

No one has ever put up with you for that long but her, she's been there and you've been there, you're comrades! It's the same thing man. You're gonna get rid of the baby who has sat through it all with you and yes she gave a headache but **** she got you to point B in good time! She brought the thrill! She carried you all the way. When you turn her on, she returns the favor... Love your Z for your Z has loved you brother u.u

Still sitting at a shop waiting to be diagnosed.

how many miles on the car?

Sorry to hear of all your problems. Your CSC going out if fairly common, extended warranty came in handy for you. But why didn't you pull your steering wheel lock fuse?

Every car has their problems be it Nissan or anyone else.

So real quick since you mentioned this, I checked my pads and They have a lot of life in them but my breaks squeak like crazy.. You guys think its the rotors? should i get new ones or resurface?

First and cheapest fix is take the calipers apart and re-apply brake grease to all contact points (except pad/rotor interface of course). If it doesn't go away, then maybe start throwing money at it.

ok so check it out

csc failed, took it to get replaced....... and then it failed at the dealership! :bowrofl: I was like,

Me- "hey, did you guys fix anything? my clutch isn't right"
tech-"yes sir, brand new csc and we test drove it to make sure everything was good"
Me- "well if you don't mind, take a seat in my car again"
tech-"Shiit..."

had to leave it over night, the new one failed in less than 24 hours lol

My warranty will actually cover to install a non nissan csc, just didn't have the money at the time. No worries it'll go out again, 3rd times a charm :bowrofl:

I have several friends that have FIAT 500C ABARTH, they love them, but they also have several Alfa's to drive as well...

Fountainhead 07-07-2015 01:36 PM

i know a senior mechanic at a local Nissan dealer/stealerhip and he says they never see any 370's come in for repair. Take it for what it's worth.
My Z never has any issues. Knock on wood.
Not discounting your feelings OP, if you don't like it you should move on.

I rode in my first 'new' Mini this last week. It was my cousins wife's DD. Made a lousy impression.
It looks just fine and he says it goes great and gets good gas mileage.
I just couldn't get over how crappy it rode and how much the interior 'rattled' around. WTF? These are modern cars. I would expect them to be real tight.
Opening and closing the door felt awful. I just can't imagine how bad it will be in a few years when there's some mileage on it.
My Z with Swifts feels less 'rough' and stiff and is way more compliant over bumpy stuff. The Mini is a unrefined go kart in comparison.

Well, yeah, you can't repair something you never sold in the first place!

Report back with what they think in a few years. What they think of them when they're new doesn't indicate their reliability over time. I don't think anyone disagrees with them being fun; the issue brought up here was if you could expect them to be trouble free over time. That's why I have such an issue with ratings for car 'Initial Quality'. WTH?

47k and some change. It's an '09 though so beyond the warranty. Guy called at lunch and said he's pretty sure it's a bent/broken fork or dislodged pin but couldn't be positive until he dropped and popped the tranny.

Zipper 104 07-07-2015 03:16 PM

You said they have Alfas to drive, like that's a GOOD thing.
Real fun cars, but also junk if you put enough miles on them to find out. Parts? Forget it. Don't ask me how I know.
They went away for a bunch of years too. Just long enough to come back and re-fool a bunch of new pooches who don't know otherwise.

09 Z here also, bought used sitting at 128,000 when i picked her up and now sitting at 132,000....engine itself is a replacement that was put in back in 2011 so engine itself has a little over 100,000....still fires up and purrs like a kitten and no squeaks or rattles, aside from having to catch up on all the maintenance the previous owner didnt do, the car has been trouble free

But my brake pads are new, I just replace them about 3 months ago.

Z370Z011 07-07-2015 04:20 PM

Dealer called, there gonna fix the steering lock failure and apparently my tire pressure sensors were bad as well lol.. And here I thought I was always low on air.

kenchan 07-07-2015 04:29 PM

huh..

u dont check ur tire pressure?

nis350 07-07-2015 04:33 PM

this has to be an install issue. As bad as the CSC, it will last more than 10 miles if installed correctly.

Complain about mechanical issues then mention getting a Fiat?

Good luck, they have some of the lowest reliability ratings.

Agreed, But like I previously stated, low fluid can also cause it as was the case with mine at 5k miles. Since the fluid level is the easiest thing to check and correct first, I mentioned that as a possible/probable culprit.

So everyone keeps mentioning how unreliable fiats are!.. What's a good inexpensive car with decent reliability?
Fiats are like 15k, good mpg.. I ask for my gf since she's supposed to check out some fiats today lol.

She's not a fan of their styling, I suppose it's what attracted her to the fiat since there a little unique.

Zbrah 07-07-2015 05:00 PM

Toyota?

Go check out a Veloster, I see quite a few girls driving these in my area.

ShutokuZ 07-07-2015 05:02 PM

What is her price range? I leased my wife's 14 Lexus IS250 for $259 a month.

Women are nuts, this is why I don't try understanding them. She didn't want a civic, found one for 13k with 20k miles and that's what she settled on when aaaaall this time she couldn't stop talking about how much she didn't want a Civic... Yet she bought one..

FairladyZ40th 07-07-2015 07:12 PM

Dude everything women say is usually the opposite OR they want you to take the wheel and make a choice for them. That's it

Tell me about it, when we met
Her- "I'm not the jealous type at all"
Me- "I want you to meet a super cool chick friend of mine"
Her-"I don't want you hanging out with her"

All sorts of crazy Lol.

FairladyZ40th 07-07-2015 07:25 PM

Lmfao XD yeah they hate admitting to their faults too. However! When you point their faults out and kind of like "corner" them in an argument w/o hurting their feelings of course you'll have them dancing at the palm of your hands :) haha in a way it's fun though because they're like a very complex puzzle you know? So it's like a daily challenge to see what new strange thoughts they've come up with X) lol

Dude... I can't have any new chick friends because it would be disrespectful to hang out with another girl and doing things with her that I could've been doing with my gf, yet, she can have guy friends and hang out with them because she's known them for over 6+ years and it's just NOT the same.

Idk man, maybe she was right or wrong? But sometimes her logic is like a rubix cube to me. Lol..
