those are for the tires. the center deflector is for the air going under the chassis.

I never installed mine because I knew it would constantly hit things, I already hit enough curbs/parking bumpers with the bottom of the bumper. Maybe I'll just sell it, haha.

I'm thinking the lip was designed to take some wear and tear. It's made of flexible plastic that can take some abuse.

I use mine as an indicator of low clearance. If I hear it scrape, I slow down.

:wtf2:

I don't wait for the audible to slow down, I slow down so I don't hear it.....

The lip is a plus in the looks department even tho it us small. And like someone said the material is defintiely made to take some what of a beating. It is definitely a keeper in my book. Especially if you don't plan on adding a kit which I have no intention of ever doing.

The wife hasn't figured out she needs to take the driveway at an angle yet.

The problem I have with mine is that the 2 clips that hold it up on the far ends of the lip no longer stay into the slots. I need to try to bend those out so that they will hold it up, instead of curling down.

You dont need that crap, buy an S-tune lip instead.

STICK_SHIFT 07-03-2015 10:28 PM

So, do you think a base without the lip would be less likely to scrape?

RanRich 08-06-2017 02:15 PM

Back from the dead.. Just checking in to make sure there is no real performance benefit and I am fine to take this off when lowering springs go on

Z-Girl 12 08-06-2017 02:36 PM

Go for it!

Funny this thread came up. It's nearly impossible to never scrape this lip. I do it on the regular even at extreme angles(although it does help). Sometimes the dips are just too intense though(California). Then sometimes it gets caught on parking log/stop things and when I reverse it pulls the ends out so I have to get out and pop them back in. It's extremely annoying. I've gotten better about not pulling up so close to those parking things.

I've replaced the lip that came with the car from the previous owner and I'm already doing a number on the new one. Like I said, depending on where you live it's almost impossible to never scrape it.

I scrape it constantly and I am not lowered. I've just come to think of it as a "wear part"
