its very hard to find Z34 weight comparisons from jdm to US BUT was easy to show the difference on the z33. As a general theory that the japanese versions of this car is lighter is supported through seperate articles on each car.

One showing the fairlady to be around 1480kg = app. 3200 lbs which is shown in j garage.
And wiki search of the american car shows to be over 1600kg= app 3500lbs.
This supports what I stated about my friends fairlady being lighter than the 350z and also shows here a probability of this being possible with the Z34.

As I stated my friends car was somewhere around 288lbs lighter. These 2 sights support what I said.

The only Z that weighed anywhere near 3500 lbs was the Roadsters (according to the WIKI, BTW). You are also comparing apples to oranges when you use an export garage's numbers because he's trying to sell you something. I'd trust Nissan's own numbers a bit more.
