I'm 5'8" and weight 213 lbs but have been 235 while owning a Z, winter bulk is leaving my system and even thou I have low body fat I'm considered obese by the 1970 air force chart but athletic built based on the BMI chart so ..my friends who are more into power lifting than bodybuilding like myself have asked me to ride in the Z and I ask them 1st to see if they are comfortable before we take off and 99% of the time they follow me in their SUV or I ride along with them, problem solved like me trying to fit inside a BRZ wont happen

they won't fit... at least comfortably

my friend is 6'3" and 220lbs and barely fit inside

He had to duck his head the entire way

He has since not been in my z

Good thing I'm 5' 6" and 220. Or maybe not...

lol yeah, a lot of you guys are referencing height similar to my friend but under 300 lb weight class, I think weight also is a big factor as my friend is 6'4 but he floats around 350-360 lbs.

Is 450 lbs really the weight capacity between driver and passenger?

JARblue 04-24-2015 09:28 PM

I've had another 250 lb passenger for an easy 500+ lb total. Zero issues on a 25+ mile trip :twocents:

Did you try to floor it with that much weight? :driving:

6'3" 250 here and no comfort issues. Drove cross country too.

Absolutely. Several times, in fact. If there was any decrease in power it was from the Texas heat. I threw her around some curves as well ;)

f*ck that. would you really want to make your car work harder by carrying a fat@$$?

Firebase99 04-25-2015 12:32 PM

My 6 foot 6, 360 pound brother in law literally could not fit in my old 350.

Agreed. I don't like the decrease in performance either.

lol the Z has plenty of power to handle a few extra pounds. Hell, much more power and you'll want the extra weight just to help put that power to the ground.

If you think you think you can feel the power drop off with a extra couple hundred pounds in the passenger seat then you're the same kind of person who claims to be able to feel a 10 hp gain on 330 hp, and I simply don't believe you :tiphat:

I'm so awesome I can feel the decrease in power from the reduced aerodynamics of a dirty car. ;)

I'm not the type to track my car. In fact, I'm not even the type to really try my car, but rather drive like a grandma. And regarding your comment about an extra 10 hp, no I wouldn't notice it.

However, I am the type that will know if the car is working harder because of extra weight. To me, extra weight = car works harder, strain on the car, bad gas mileage, extra wear on tires.
