Also my hunch, as I truly thought the 15 would be the last model year for this gen Z. Nissan boardroom must have decided to just milk it further instead of perhaps a gap until the next gen is released.

It's the EPA pansies whining about noise pollution. They need to silence commercial trucks and motorcycles, not cars. 
Yet the same agency told zone 1 thru 4 9/11 victims, we were breathing safe air? Really????? EPA's priorities are where? In reducing exhaust noise.
