How Far Have You Driven?

For me, it would have to be from San Francisco (Where I am located), to Las Vegas. This was last year around this time (well it was march) with a cousin. The total trip was 1210 Total Miles, it was like 595 one way, then coming back. The rest was in Vegas just crussing. (I need to go out in more outings)

I am planning a cross country trip next year from San Francisco to New York w/ the girlfriend. My car is getting a new tranny and a new clutch system installed. I figured my 09 370Z @ 75k miles will never be in better shape again.

I plan a shot from San Francisco to LA, to Vegas, through Utah, Denver, Iowa, Chicago, Cleveland and then New York. Total 3197 Mile One Way Trip (source: google maps). One way might be fun, coming back will probably be a pain lol

How about Ya'll?

Post Total Miles, so we can compare. If you decide to participate.

Hmmm Olney MD, to Keyser WV and back. About 300 miles round trip. Didn't even use a whole tank of gas.

However, next year (2016) I plan to go from Olney, MD to Sun Lakes State Park, WA and back. About 5200 miles round trip. Going fishing with my brother for opening season lowland lakes.

Magic Bus 04-07-2015 04:32 PM

I've driven from Lemoore, CA to Pensacola, FL back to Memphis, TN. For the most part it was a comfortable ride. Was definitely fun driving through El Paso bc I pushed her to about 110-115!!!

m4a1mustang 04-07-2015 07:45 PM

Many moons ago I did DC to Houston and back, which was about 3800 miles round trip.

shfeddy 04-07-2015 08:15 PM

Fort Wayne Indiana to the Coast of NC, 936 Mi one way, no issues with over heating, oil temps, handled the curves of the mountains in NC like a champ! loved that drive

Not a Z owner yet, but still want to contribute to this thread.

3400km around germany and area in the course of 2 weeks. This was doen in a rented bmw 118i. Aside from stopping at cities, some notable hilights:
-stelvio pass
-ss44 in tyrol, italy
-austrian mountain roads from swiss border to imst.

Would highly recommend such a trip.

4200km. going out to vancouver bc from barrie on. All in Canada, so greater distance. 1 way. done in 4 1/2 days.

I think most of these posts detail some drive to my home state of NC - what do you guys find so awesome about us? haha (I love my state).

Also let you in on a secret - if you think the Tail of the Dragon is cool, check out the Rattler HWY 209. It's longer, has more turns, much less traffic, and a much higher (impossible to achieve) speed limit than the TOD.

firulice 04-07-2015 10:22 PM

When I bought mine in December I flew to Orlando and drove it 3 days straight home to utah. No problems and a great trip!

Majorwoody 04-07-2015 11:14 PM

I've driven the whole I-5 from Blaine, WA. all the way to Chula Vista, CA back and forth.= in a span of 3 weeks. But it was on my first Z, a 90 300ZX.. back in the nineties with Stevie B and Johnny O playing in the good old cassette deck. I was too cheap to upgrade to a CD player..lol

90 ST 04-08-2015 12:04 AM

My longest trip was about 4400 miles.
Left Calgary, AB, drove to the west coast, all the way down the coast hwy, (1/101) to San Fran, and on to San Diego, across to Vegas, but I had to hit some of route 66, so we went through Blyth and Needles, CA. then back up to Calgary. Vegas to Calgary non stop I've done a few times, about 18 hours. 1300 miles just that leg.

Just rolled 212500 miles today!

sp911 04-08-2015 09:03 AM

New Britain Ct to Savannah Georgia. I wanted to end up in Daytona for spring break but I started swerving after 19 hours and only 4 hours of sleep the night before so I pulled over for the night. 19 hours included breakfast, lunch, dinner and over an hour at South of the Border. over 900 miles total.

Cvzg77r 04-08-2015 09:23 AM

In the first month of ownership I traveled from Dallas, TX to Los angeles, CA. I would never do it again, going there was fine, coming back was hell. I sped by a cop (i think he was off duty cause he didn't bother coming after me) didn't care I just wanted to come home and sleep lol

Lots of 500+ mile day trips. The Z has never left Texas, although she has seen Mexico across the Rio Grande, Louisiana across Caddo Lake, and Oklahoma across Lake Texoma :driving:

New York to Orlando and back

RN SHARK 04-08-2015 05:43 PM

The furthest I've driven is from San Diego to Willow Springs and back. Also have done some SD to LA drives (five times I believe). So not very far.
Now that I live in Raleigh North Carolina, I'm looking forward to going to ZDayz at the NC/Tennessee border. That will be my new longest drive.

3.7 ZPA 04-08-2015 06:07 PM

Westchester, NY to Boston a handful of times. About 350 miles round trip :p

Zauskycop 04-08-2015 07:24 PM

I drove from Melbourne to Adelaide and back in a weekend (Friday morning to Sat night) for Round 1 of the SA State Sports Car Championships, 1620km round trip.

I regularly travel Melbourne/Goulburn and back for race events.

These are in my Ute towing a trailer/race car.

We also travel Melbourne to Mildura to see my (elderly) father which is 1100km round trip (in SWMBO Murano usually).

Have also done Melbourne-Perth (3400km one-way) and Melbourne-Darwin (3750 one-way) a couple of times ... just because I could !!

Travel distances in Australia are large .... as these maps show ..

For myself it was driving from El Paso TX to Atlanta then to Savannah. Stayed a week, then without stopped cept for food, bathroom drove back to El Paso. Thats a 1600 mile one way trip.

My Z is a 2015 so it was my first long road trip and I have to say the Z is a great highway car. Effortless acceleration, everyone looks at it (and wishes they were driving it), really comfortable seats, and just plain fun...especially in Texas...we have very high speed limits and virtually no cops along the desert areas. I drove at a sustained 100 once I left Fort Worth city limits.

jcasti07 04-09-2015 08:40 AM

Aseth, El Paso ftw! haha!! Not really it's a lame city with crappy roads. I haven't taken any trips yet but I'd like to go up to Cloudcroft and cruise the mountain trails.
