Jeeps are popular, and I think Fiat-Chrysler is the only company in the Big 3 to make a profit, or increase sales in the US. But Chrysler and especially the Jeep brand is always at the bottom of the reliability list (consumer reports, etc.). I guess Jeep owners don't care about lists.... until their Jeep breaks down

Yeah Nissan never made the Z a better drag car, or much of a better car at all. Oil cooler is about it. But it's a great sports coupe, it has been since 2009. Drag car? Not so much. |

And don't give Nissan any credit for that garbage oil cooler. It doesn't do $hit. You still can't beat on it for any length of time, so it's pointless  |

Plenty of guys take the stock Z with the stock Z oil cooler to the track and run 2 - 3 good laps before the car gets too hot in general. On the street, I've never had a problem with my oil-cooler-equipped Z, but I did have my 2011 get up in the 250 range just from cruising in 5th on the highway. Maybe that oil cooler does something after all. I'm more pissed about the fuel issue, no point in whining about an easy fix like an oil cooler when you fuel starve before you can even get the car hot enough to go into limp mode. |
Wait... what fuel issue? Sorry... noob here.

Just thought I would come back in and update. I purchased a 2016 Hellcat about a year and half ago and stoked to even this day every time I drive it.
Lightly molded its putting 750rwhp and runs mid 10s quarter mile. I have also heard there will be a new twin turbo Z coming out in a few year which I will say it's about time. Hope you guys are still enjoying your Z's!! |
Challenger or charger?

So i made the mistake of trading my 12 nismo in for a 15 GT. Yes, it was fasted, but i regretted letting go of the car almost instantly. That electric steering plus the fact that its so heavy made the feel like a dream to drive. Long story short im back in a 12 nismo lol

I'm still a Nissan fan myself. I purchased a 17 leftover Titan and pretty happy with it.
Yes it's hard to go from the Z to a Camaro, Mustang, or even a Challenger/Charger from the handling perspective but there is nothing like the brutal horsepower coming from the big three these days. My Hellcat handles pretty good for a muscle car but it does have its limits. I have also been to point of interest at the drag strips. While autox and road courses are cool and all, I just prefer the strip. I loved my Z but I never used it for it's intended purpose and it is not a good daily driver kind of car. |
All nice cars. All personal taste.
A buddy of mine has a Hellcat, and I will tell you, it's pretty hard to wipe the smile off your face listening to the beautiful noise that car makes, and it's stupid fast. The Demon with it's near slick steam roller tires all the way around even handles, but the point has been made that it's a big car and really doesn't compare to a small sports car in the twisties. I like my Z. I wanted a RWD manual transmission fun car, and having owned 4 other Z's in the past, and having found a deal I couldn't pass up on a 2 year old 10k mile private party sale way below KBB with no sales tax, it was a no brainer. I haven't had the latest generation of domestics in the driveway but I did own a 2000 LS1 Camaro that was a whole lot of fun. I do miss how comfortable the seats were in that car and wish the Z was even close there. And I miss T-tops too, which I had on 3 of the 5 Z's I've owned. (2 '83 turbo cars and an 85 Z31) The VQ will never put down the torque numbers those big V8s put down, and it's that torque that launches you off the line. The only reason the Z ever hung with the pony cars, even back when it came out is due to the weight advantage. Still, go drive what you want to drive and have fun with it. Just remember when you buy a domestic pony car, you're buying the same thing 80k+ other people bought that year. With a Z, the club is a wee bit more exclusive. |
:iagree:

The only thing that compares to a 370z is a Corvette Grand Sport. It is twice the money and everyone knows what it is. You can hide out in a 370z and nobody is the wiser.
