now to me that's sad, or maybe it's just me?
also i think he must have been racing civics if he was beating everyone

The gains made on the 2.0 Turbos are astonishing, I mean 5, 600HP. The few Turbo 3.8 6 are simply monsters. He did something wrong, or was an idiot, probably both. But out of the box the 2.0 Turbo is a FAR better platform for serious modding. The 3.8, stock, out of the box is the far better platform if youre not going FI.

i'd like to go with idiot please lol. while i was there i didn't see any hit that high. i think the highest one was 450-500whp. but if the 2.0 is hitting 600whp that's pretty impressive i think.

Well edit, after actually looking (:tiphat:), the 2.0 are around 400HP, the 3.8 are in the 500. But getting that power is obviously much cheaper and easier on the 2.0.

Hey LAVA, where did you see these reports?

I did a Google search for 2016 Nissan Z35, and that came up in one of the first few links

I can tell you right now, and I will bet my car on it - all of that is BS. The rendering also looks like it was a bridesmaid beaten into a coma with every ugly stick in the country.

Nissan has a much better shot at sales with the Mustang/Camaro/Genesis/Challenger crowd if they toss in a 3.0TT V6, share a platform with the upcoming Q60, and start it at $35k with 420-450hp that aiming for the dwindling BRZ crowd. Why? Because the Mustang market generates sales and right now, the BRZ is looking to be a flash in the pan.

Can't wait to see the real thing.

I might also add - hybrid powertrains are HEAVY. There is no way you're going to twin turbo a V6 with 400-450hp with a hybrid powertrain (or a 2.0T four banger) and land at less than 3300 pounds while meeting safety standards. It'll be more like the 3600-3800 pound mark, the car will initially win a couple people over and we'll be exactly where we are now with the Z34 - the Z35 will be long in the tooth and its competitors will have outpaced it in many areas (not all).

BTW- the only Z for MY2016 is a Z34.

LAVA 03-19-2015 12:45 PM

Could be BS, we won't know until the Tokyo show next year. I agree that rendering was horrible so here's another one.

Here's another article saying basically the same thing

2016 Nissan Z35 Engine Options

2016 Nissan Z35 needs to come with powerful yet entertaining speed. That is why the company needs something to make the performance more reliable compared to the current model. It is reported that this car will get engine supply from Mercedes-Benz. It means it is very possible to see hybrid engine turbocharged inline four 2.0 liter in order to generate the output for about 211 horsepower and also 258 lb-ft of twist and there is a support of electrical motor. Another powerful option is turbocharged V6 engine 3.0 liter in order to generate more than 400 horsepower. It is mated to electric motor. Gladly, the company works best in order to cover the demand of all different markets with different engines for 2016 Nissan Z35.

:iagree:

16 will most likely be the last MY for the Z34 (hopefully).

I would assume (and hope) that Nissan will unveil something or anything about the next Z this December at the Tokyo auto show.

This **** is OLD. The text is far older than 1/2015. I remember reading exactly that at least 10 months ago. I think that site is just garbled news IMO.

Tadpole 03-19-2015 01:54 PM

The projected price is expected to be lower than price of the 370Z.

I'm just laughing so hard right now going through what people on this forum want to see in the next Z.

"I want to have a chick that's my main chick, looks like Kate Upton but a bit leaner, has a Kim Kardashian-esque complexion but doesn't wear stupid clothes, is well spoken like Erin Andrews but doesn't sound like her, has legs like Anna Kournikova but is shorter than me, and has an accent like Kate Beckinsale. I want all of those things, but I never want to have to pay her compliments when I don't feel like it, I want her to be ok with it if I want a side chick, I never want to listen to her problems, I never want to have to spend money on her, I never want her to gain weight after having babies, and I never want her to get attention from any other dudes."

MAKE IT HAPPEN NISSAN - the Nissan 370 Katekardashikovale Utility Coupe.

If such a chick existed, maybe three of us would actually make a move to pick her up while the rest wait around for her to go through a couple of dudes so her value will "depreciate" first. And then of course, we would have all the armchair quarterbacks that would never hope for any success in that endeavor, and would come back with "elbows too pointy. would not."

Agreed, I posted a comment on this earlier plus the sales numbers for the Mustang, Camaro and C7 Vette as that's a 2 seater. If Nissan wants to move cars, this is the area to compete in, not the BRZ arena as it's market is just too small.
