So on super bowl Sunday (2/1/15) my car gives out while driving, had it towed to Nissan dealer. I checked on vehicle Monday and service guy said they prob get to it today, I didn’t hear back from them till next day. They said my fuel pump went out, lucky for me it was covered under warranty. Here is where I started having issues, part was not in stock and had to be ordered this was 2/3, after checking in with him all week part arrived 2/9, during this whole time I was never offered a loaner  . as soon as car was ready I picked it up and first thing I did was a walk through. Sure enough, two things stood out: kick plate was dented and two scuffs on left rear quarter/bumper. I went back the next morning 2/10, the service guy seemed suspicious about kick plate but in the mean time had someone buff out the scuffs which worked. I had to wait hour and half just so he could ask manager about kick plate. I got tired of waiting so I checked price of plate with part department (since I’m still at dealership), I said to myself f*** it I’ll just pay for it. When I approached the service guy he said his manager was now ready to look at it, and although manager was hesitant, he said they’ll order new kick plate. Fast forward to today, check engine light comes on and car feels different. It feels a little more jerky and gas seems to be consumed a lot faster than before, maybe I have to break in new pump, idk. And one last thing, since I’ve had my car back, it runs hot at times, which was never an issue before. I’m going to call them today, see what can be done. any advice other than stay away from dealership. Will fuel pump break in? (sorry for the novel, maybe I just wanted to vent to Z fam)

First thing is first. You need to check that code. It could be an evap code since they were messing with the fuel pump. Are you smelling fuel? There is a chance the tank wasn't sealed.

Your car shouldn't be burning more fuel with a new pump. The engine code could be unrelated to the fuel pump.

Your best bet is to take it back to the dealer since they worked on it before. It might help to take some pictures of the car in case they scratch it again.

There's no break-in on fuel pumps. Sounds like evap problem.
