Per the test I pulled up, both cars go 4.9 to 60. 13.4 for the z in sqm, 13.25 for the s5, which is actually gonna give you about 21 feet.

Be careful comparing 0-60 times, since some are given with rollout and others aren't. Most of the really good (sub 5 second) z times are with rollout.

K so 0-60 is about the same which is sad since the Audi is AWD and has a ton more TQ and the quarter is close (thats one of the highest 1/4 times for a Z i have seen) Figure the S5 is about 10k+ more the my Z i say win to the Z.

Red__Zed 09-15-2011 10:00 AM

I'm not saying it's a better car. I would never consider an Audi. Just saying his claim isn't that far off base.

red6spd 09-15-2011 10:03 AM

Well he says the Z cant keep up. On paper it looks like it would keep up pretty well. Keep up in my mind head means it could still lose but not by much. A STI VS a Stock SI there is a car that wont keep up (SI) Whateve.

More like middle-aged sex:
Prone to overheating just a couple minutes in
More prone to grunt than to scream
You think it's rough, because you don't know what you're missing

All in good fun before everyone gets their panties in a a bunch. Take a look at this guys past posts.

The only thing I dont like about the Z is the interior guages and steering wheel radio controls look and seem cheap and overdone ....also the fuel guage is silly....
The car drives very well, handles well, its quick etc....all the good stuff is well done.

The Evo, 5k more expensive than my Z, made by struggling Mitsu, did not impress me with its interior when I sat in it.

CarsRfun 09-29-2011 08:43 PM

The EVO GSR lists for 33k and change...I just dont like all the fancy cheap guage clusters and bar graph fuel gauge. I prefer a simple layout and that what I have in my car. Nothing garish.

My car was 30k. I like the polished, attractive interior of the Z versus the spartan interior of the Evo.

We can both like different things. If we all liked the same look, we'd all drive the same car.

this review sucks. he is comparing a Z to an audi s5... what else has he driven? a corvette? this was such a deep review. He didn't understand the car's button, then compares everything to some superlative car, like an bmw or audi. Complete snob. Who jumps into a BMW and immediately operates the NAV like it's something a 6 year old could operate? When you want to critique something, at least have a coherent topic and some particular perspective the reader wants to relate to, or compare against. In the end he says the car is OK. What were his methods of comparison? and explain the pros and cons of each.

could you fit okay? I couldn't really fit in the Evo MR's seats at all when I went to look at them, incredibly uncomfy.

I'm 5' 10" as well, but I'm also 290lbs so I'm just too wide in the hips/quads and back to fit comfortably. I'm certain were I 50 lbs or more lighter, I'd love the seats, they look really nice too.

I'm about the same size, although I found the Evo roomy enough. I didn't really test drive it, though. Just sat in it for a bit.

KillerBee370 09-30-2011 11:20 PM

I had an '06 Evo IX and I can say that the interior was econo-box compared to the Z as far as luxury is concerned but I definitely miss those Recaro's!!!!

Same here, just sat in one for a couple minutes till I couldn't take it anymore. :)

I do like those MR's though a lot.

CarsRfun 10-01-2011 12:37 AM

Yes the EVO interior is basic, but I dont mind one bit...to me basic is good. The Z looks almost fighter jet cockpit in comparison.

So, this car is geared more towards an older audience.
