I got a kick out of the line "in a pinch, the Z can hustle". WTF does that even mean? If the car is in trouble it can move, but otherwise it's just a slug? Stupid commentary and contradictory to the "smaller horses" beginning to his review.

:iagree: It's happening more and more in every type of article.

Agreed - I'm going to coin the phrase "Jerry Springer Reviews". It seems these people lack any real skill in doing a review so they turn into trolls who bring their poking sticks to get the angst of the car's fan base to get attention. By being extreme people come and check it out and can't help but comment on the absurdity of the review. In doing so they create lots of intrest and action in their comments sections. We've seen lots of nit picking and there is nothing unusual about that but this review is absurd.

For the commentators I would seriously like to see these magic cars with their magic engines that are so vastly superior that the 370Z seems like a Hyundai Pony in comparison. I would love to take them out for a test drive because if the 370Z is pathetic in comparison I can only imagine what these other "cars" would be like.....

onekneedown 10-11-2009 10:59 PM

Don't sweat these reviews. I am a former owner of a E46 BMW M3, modified with CAI, differential, suspension upgrades, wheels etc. I have been very pleased with my recent acquisition of a 370Z. Comparisons so far: 370Z handles very well, It's stance inspires confidence because of reduced body roll compared to the M3 event after upgraded suspensions.

The Z doesn't accelerate as fast as my M3, mostly due to a upgraded differential.

M3 refinement is nice. I like that the 370Z is not attempting to be a luxury sport car.

There have been many complaints about the 370Z exhaust note. First off there are sounds equally pleasurable to a throaty V8. Secondly there were as many complaints about the exhaust sound of M3 as there are about the 370Z, which I like just fine.

Those who have ever owned a BMW knows that it stands for Bring More Wallet. The M3 was an ultimate driving machine. It can keep you driving to the bank. Not a slight just a honest statement of what I learned to live with in order to bask in the "soul" of a German engineered car.

If I were to select between my previous 2003 BMW M3 and the 2009 370Z, I'd choose the Z easily.

"The 2003 car(Z) had too much Audi TT in the styling, which is another way of saying it had too much Porsche 911 in the styling." !? I don't think the reviewer cares for sports cars if looking like a 911 is a bad thing. That's like saying I don't like that girl she looks too much like Mila Kunis.

You can tell her I personally find her extremely attractive

shadoquad 09-14-2011 01:10 PM

Yep. I took that picture after cruising over to her pad in my Lamborghini car-helicopter. I was snorting crank with Bill Gates on the way over.

Oh what a blessed life I lead. That's why I bought a 370Z.

LOL at the cant keep up with the S5 comment.

Rone 09-14-2011 05:53 PM

I totally agree with the review. The Z is uncomfortable, noisey and underpowered. That's why I'm trading it in for a ZL1 when they come out

I'm kidding, pls don't hurt me.

There basically the same. It would come down to driver. But to say it cant keep up is just stupid, especially since he was driving the auto which as I hate to say it is faster.

Based on car and driver's times (since they are your favorite), the s5 will put approx 16 feet on a z through the quarter mile. Not to mention the faster 5-60 times that mean so much more to a street car.

For some reason I cant find much info on the car, but I did find that it does 0-60 in the 5 second range slower then the Z. Whatever, I guess we should just get a stock WRX to reck them both huh?

Red__Zed 09-15-2011 09:54 AM

Not in a straight line.

Per the test I pulled up, both cars go 4.9 to 60. 13.4 for the z in sqm, 13.25 for the s5, which is actually gonna give you about 21 feet.

Be careful comparing 0-60 times, since some are given with rollout and others aren't. Most of the really good (sub 5 second) z times are with rollout.
