Yea. We ended up using that... it was a core reason why the dealer would take a special order request with more seriousness. Nonetheless, we couldn't find the revised model and option codes on it. They could be the same, but didn't want to risk it. Either way, got the request in and waiting for a confirmed Open Allotment.

While looking on the website, did anyone notice the sentra/370z nismo mashup? just a concept by a fan. I dont know if its new or not but looks kind of cool. It's just another thing to possibly look out for if the IDx didn't tickles anyone's fancy

So im thinking of getting one of these maybe in the winter but im really torn on if its the right move or not

here is some of the rationale I came up with, what do you guys think?

Quote:

YES I SHOULD reasons

-Ive been thinking as the arrival of theNISMO GTR nears and having the #1 NISMO ever built for the US with all the documentation and all that is going to make me so paranoid to drive it. having something like this Z would make a really cool and fun daily driver. The first ever US market NISMO GTR is a collectors car and a piece of Nissan history and I just cant drive it like I would want to.

-Also as some know im big into autocross and have used Z's for a good number of years up until I got my 09 GTR in 2008. I feel running that NISMO GTR would do nothing but eat up $3K tires. I mean I might do a few runs occasionally but if I had this I could do a full season care free and save the NISMO GTR for our VIR track day and a few other things like that.

-right now I have a NISMO frontier pick up that I drive everyday and im starting to get tired of having to drive a truck daily as a compromise to have the GTR. I remember back when I had my 350z NISMO I would drive that thing all the time and enjoyed it

-It would be fun to get back into a 6 speed manual as I loved my 350z NISMO Z

- I could pick up the 42K non tech and see If I can get it for 36-37K

- Ive got access to a very unique line of credit at 1.9% with a minimum payment of like $100ish month per say $30K. so the monthly payment could be basically whatever I wanted it to be

-matching black 2015 NISMOs!

- I got to help unveil the car for the US so would be cool to own

-My start in the Nissan community and rise to where I am now started with the Z and would be cool to get back to my roots!

-I could be more involved around here on the Z forum

The NO reasons are

-Well the money plain and simple. the NISMO GTR was already $13K more than I expected because of the Ti exhaust option instead of it being standard. I dont have disposable income and the NISMO GTR thing was the perfect storm of my master plan and everything coming together in a way I could never pull off again.

-40K for another car might be getting a little over my head and ive done well in life not ever getting to that point. however this would be more all intents and purposes my primary driver and I would really use it like it was intended.

- 2 sports car car insurance bills. ( something to consider)

-Only have a 2 car garage ( my GF has a pathfinder)

- all new Z35 is due in the next 2 years with all new styling and brand new engine choices that is going to make the Z34 which is already aged feel obsolete

^^The Nismo GTR would be an awesome car to own, and you really don't have to worry about driving it harshly. It's not a frail little supercar, it's made to be driven.

The Z35 is likely to be a turbo 4 cylinder, which is a step away from what I would want (turbo V6).

However, these cars don't compete with each other. There's a $100k difference in price, so make your decision based on what you can afford.

you misunderstood. im not cross shopping I already bought the NISMO GTR its on a boat and will be here in a few weeks. Its the #1 car ever built for the US which is giving me anxiety about driving it but on a limited basis like to the track or maybe on a backroad on the weekends. certianly not in stop and go traffic as its pretty much irreplaceable being the first ever NISMO VIN#

Im debating on getting a NISMO Z too this winter/spring to be a daily driver so I can just enjoy the car autoX it and use the GTR sparingly. my daily driver now is a 2005 NISMO frontier and I want something I really love if im going to be driving it 90% of the time

If I could swing it, I'd have both for sure. :driving:

yeah the NISMO Z is great I had a NISMO S-tune 350 and then the 2007 NISMO 350 and really loved them both.

I just love the seats on the NISMO Z. when I sat in them they were better than the Recaros in the GTR

then when I saw the pics of the black that did it for me!

Liking the price of the new nismo.

Testing out the feel of that automatic knob, yo!

Karanx7 08-09-2014 12:38 AM

MC, you've got some first world problems haha. I got the first Nismo GTR, but it's too rare to enjoy.

I wonder if the 3.9 final drive will make the manual faster than the auto.

MC 08-09-2014 01:13 AM

yeah that does sound pretty bad. didnt mean for it to come off like that but its sadly true to a degree though but some of it might be me overreacting a bit

im just really excited about the NISMO Z and interested in picking one up... just not sure its the right/best move. When I saw it in May I was a fan but didnt think much about it until seeing the black pics earlier this week and then the MSRP today. that base NISMO in 6MT could probably be bought for mid upper 30's OTD and thats intriguing as it would make a perfect car for me

I want to see some of you guys take delivery and get some time in the car though

redstarcg 08-09-2014 10:27 AM

MC I agree with you on the GTR. If I had the funds to have it and get a 370 I would almost never take it out. Like you said above, its more of a trophy and a collectors car than anything due to it being #1. Even a dent in the door by some stupid **** would drive me insane hahaha.

I say get both. Keep gtr as a trophy and 370 to kill :D

cv129 08-09-2014 07:40 PM

MC, it will be interesting to post the same question on 6speedonline or The GTR board and see if you get the same answer.
