Was contemplating on an Ark CBE, until you mentioned the angry bees.

He probably had test pipes as well. I had the Ark DT-S exhaust with stock cats and it sounded great.... no rasp or tin can angry bumble bee sound at all. Put on some test pipes, hated the sound and ended up selling it

I just ordered atheist SS FI with 18" resonators. Think I'm going to call Toney tomorrow to change my order to CF non-resonated. Hardest decision I've made all year!

Rooskey 07-08-2014 10:55 PM

I had FI longtubes, FI 18" resonated x-pipe, and FI SS canister cat back when I had my Nismo Z. The sound was amazing and very deep for a V6 engine. Even my drag racer camaro friend complemented me on how it sounded. Only problem I had was after a few miles my car turned into a rattle trap. First the trunk lid and then the dash. Im sure it wouldnt take much to cure those problems though. For power and sound go with FI

big daddy 07-09-2014 08:06 AM

FI to me sound awesome!

My wife drove the Nismo the other day and when I heard her pull up I was amazed how dam good it sounded

pauliewalnutz 07-09-2014 03:41 PM

My Meisterschaft from 2009. Was like the 3rd one to have it on the G37

Fast Intention with Carbon Fiber wrap. Sounds deep and powerful. Not high pitch nor annoying. Not looking for the unnecessary attention.

tanamerra 07-10-2014 08:56 AM

HKS Hipower.

is that all you have? test pipes? I have the same exhaust but with test pipes and CAI.. sounds great and I get a lot of compliments on it..

Tazicon 07-10-2014 11:42 AM

I had a Megan Racing CBE I loved it. I was told not to buy it but did anyway and it turned out I was very pleased with the sound as well as the quality.

BOLIO 671 07-20-2014 01:27 PM

I'm using the Berk CBE/HFC combo on mine...Sounds sweet!!!!

mwe370z 07-31-2014 09:03 PM

What exhaust ? AAM Short Tails.

/Angelo350Z/ 07-31-2014 09:52 PM

F.I., just like everyone and their mothers.

Currently just the ARK Grip v2.

Might look at picking up some headers or Berk HFC to mate with it

Thanks for this! This is the set-up I am thinking of going with on my '12 NISMO. That is, if I can find a shop around here to install the LTH's for a reasonable price.

How much louder is the set-up compared to just the stock NISMO exhaust?

z34corey 08-03-2014 09:17 PM

What aftermarket exhaust is everyone running?

Fast Intentions for power, Meisterschaft for sound.

zae757 08-03-2014 09:26 PM

I have the Injen SES Performance Exhaust SES1989TT. It sounds great to me and combo'd with the Berk HFC and Stillen CAI is beautiful. But to each is own, all depends on how deep you're trying to dig into your wallet. If finances are not an issue, then definitely go with F.I. exhaust all day. Not only sounds good but looks the part too.

It's quite a bit louder when you get on it, but not too bad when you're driving it easy.

ccarlsen 11-12-2014 10:17 PM

I am currently running into what to get for my '14 Nismo. I don't want to do fast intentions, was either thinking Ark DTS or AAM short tails, I have the k&n intake now. Just reying to find something nice that fits well and looks good on a NISMO

DavidZ370 11-12-2014 11:07 PM

Top Speed Pro 1, Berk HFC. minimal rasp loud when you step on it.

ccarlsen 11-13-2014 06:50 AM

I don't want to mess with the cats currently.

ohohoh123456 11-13-2014 11:00 AM

Fast Intentions CBE 12'' resonator only. Used to have their high flow cats non-resonated but was too loud for me. Now I'm feeling I'm more towards the quiet side...so god forbids me from getting the right sound! I'll probably more fit with 18'' resonator+resonated HFC. That should be the right sound for me :(

Here is my current setup.

AAM 3" True Dual
AAM Test Pipes
AAM Cold Air Intake

You're running a 3" on a NA motor? Got any dyno sheets?

ccarlsen 11-13-2014 12:26 PM

Sounds a little raspy

Yeah. I will have it tuned in a coupled of weeks and put up dynos then but I didn't get a preinstall dyno so I won't know the exact gains. This is the first round of mods. I plan to go FI so I wanted to use the parts for that instead of changing later.

it was just put on so it hasn't aged yet. Plus there are no cats so it's pretty much straight pipe

KingJoseph 11-13-2014 09:08 PM

Wow, that sounds awesome...

JC-Nismo 11-13-2014 11:12 PM

I want one that's loud, obnoxious, but not raspy or fart can loud. I heard a Porsche Cayman S on the highway on ramp go full throttle and OMFG!!! Insane and that's the sound I like. I like the FI exhaust, but don't wanna drop the coin on it though, I would like to keep the stock mufflers cause I don't want the aftermarket one dragging on driveways or speed bumps and I love the tips as well. Any ideas???

F.I. exhausts don't really sit that low, no worries. I haven't scratched once. Yet. Go for it you will like it. If you want loud and obnoxious, add a resonated or nonresonated HFCs or headers (more extreme). Absolute awesomeness.

The clearance on the AAM exhaust is also fine. I am around 1 inch lower and have plenty of clearance. The exhaust looks "shrink-wrapped to the car. There is no wasted space under the car.
