Thank you .

i used 2 manfrotto 241 suction cups and i mounted 2 manfrotto super clamps to them. it was very hard to find the pole for the rig so i ended up purchasing it from rig pro on Facebook for $369. at the end of the pole i added a manfrotto magic arm friction arm with a super clamp on the end of it .
as far as triggering it i used a pair of pocket wizards that connected to the camera via the trigger port ( i forget the name of it ) .
basically drove the car at less than 1mph and wirelessly hit the button on the transmitter.
this was shot at 1 sec F18 with a canon 6D and a 17-40mm F4

Excellent! Thanks for sharing your set up. You have been handsomely rep'd for your knowledge sharing. :tiphat:

I would also like to know the pole used. I have the cups still searching for camera mount.

I have seen guys use rigid conduit (industrial electrical conduit), but that would be so heavy.

And rigid conduit is waaaaay cheaper than $300+ dollars.

Mr&Mrs 03-11-2014 10:26 AM

I have the same cups he mentioned they would probably be strong enough to hold conduit but I'm a little scared to try with a nice camera hanging off the end lol.

Dude if you paid $370 for the 4 sections and you want to sell me the other 2 you dont need im 100% down. paypal ready right meow!

Ive been wanting to get rig-pros pole, but was waiting for summer... since you have 2 pieces you dont need that works peeerfect because i only use 2 poles too!

Im willing to pay $190 for the 2 sections (slightly more than half) + shipping. :happydance:

Let me know, very interested. btw, we use the same items and i love every piece. the magic arm is awesome! ive even used it to hold onto while i hung the camera out the car while doing rolling shots on the highway. lol

my current setup is with conduit... its def heavy, and there are certain ways of configuring it that wont work, and it does flex quite a bit. :/
the most ive used is 3 pieces of 5" sections, 15 ft total, and its scary because the flex drop is baaad and you can tell it just wants to give.

it is done in camera , basically setting your aperture to f18 go capture lots of detail and at the same time setting the shutter speed to 1 sec to get the blurred background

Sweet I have a 550d and obviously don't know jack about setting anything other than auto.

thanks:wtf2:

If you want to sell it to kaze you can. I'm tight on funds for now due to my surgery and being off of work 3 months and counting.

Always wondered how to get the blurred background? Is that done on the camera or in post?

Do tell

Rig on car+moving car=Blurred background.
It's like panning because in essence when panning, your lens is fixed on the object that is moving and background blurs because it's stationary.

jofro6 03-12-2014 02:59 PM

How's you get those first two moving shots, or did you Photoshop the rig out afterwards?
