I would hesitate before taking that guy's post as fact. I can't imagine there being enough Nismos sold to justify making more versions of it. Until I see something official, I'm going to file that under the "wild-*** speculation" we like to get into here.

if the nismo had a "touring" or "tech" pack plus a &at i would have bought one instead. i wanted nav and leather. the nismo interior is terrible looking to me lol just cloth and nothing special besides the number plate. |
also i find it funny i found a forum jsut for the Z35 and they have less info than we have lol the370z.com wins lol

Yep. It's part of the pussification of America.

i would go into further battles with you but lets keep this about the Z35 and we can have our MT v AT discussion in the premium section lol :tiphat: |
Nothing more on that needs to be said. It's obvious which direction the masses are pushing car manufacturers. It doesn't make it right, but it's the way things are going. On the upside, in another ten years my car will be theft proof since no one will know how to drive a manual. :rofl2:

As for the amount of Nismo's they will sell etc the fact is the Nismo will become more like the Sti or MR evo not limited edition more of just a version like the track model 350z. If the new z isnt reduced in weight they have an epic failure on their hands. I remember seeing the 370z which was to be a downsized 350z but then they somehow come out heavier. We don't need 14 inch rotors, a million metal braces, use .ore aluminum and shave the weight down. I assume I will be driving the next supra. I can't see Nissan making an intelligent move here. |

Also I wouldn't say completely theft proof. Z gods forbid someone jacks your Z, but they could burn your clutch to bits. |
Nissan announced that the new Q50 Eau Rouge Concept has/will have the 3.8L TT same setup to the GTR and announced a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in the Q50 making 211 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque
|
Quote:
211hp turbo 4 = da faq? a little bitch ford focus puts out 252hp. if thats the engine they try passing off in a new Z it'll probably be the death of the car lol |

2014 Infiniti Q50 Gains Turbocharged Four-Cylinder Engine In China Looks like the Z is going down in engine size and adding a turbo, while Infiniti gets the GT-R (minus the transmission though). |
Quote:
sadly it'll probably sell more because if they do the 4cyl it means they want the BRZ/FRS market so it'll be cheaper. and then the Z becomes another terrible car like those 2. god i hope i'm wrong :shakes head: that eau rouge looks sexy though lol |
Just because that turbo four makes less power doesn't mean the Z necessarily will. That's a China special, right? It would be very easy for them to make a 300hp+ turbo 4. Pretty much everyone has one now. And factory turbo motors usually have the ability to make loads more power than stock with bolt-ons and a tune. And if the car's lighter, it's going to be faster. The sky isn't necessarily falling.

i really hope they stay true to the Z platform and just lighten it a bit and keep the V6. maybe even add a couple snails to it(even though that'll never happen with big brother GTR being around). :stirthepot: |
Quote:
I will say this though, if it is a 4 cylinder in the new Z the Z is dead. Yes it will live on, but it will be a new breed of the car in a different arena. |
The IDX is the BRZ competitor, not the Z. And for the sake of argument, if it's only 280hp but weighs 2800 lbs, it's the same power to weight ratio but would be better on tires, brakes and gas. That's a win.
|
Quote:
though i pretty much said this a few posts up lol |
Quote:
i'm also going along the lines of worst case scenario. ideally the IDX comes out and destroys those 2 horrible cars (BRZ/FRS). the Z sticks with a V6 or sadly a 4 banger with good HP and a healthy diet. i go buy a GTR and not care anymore about any of what i said above lol :tiphat: |
I think I found the 4 cylinder engine, it is in the Merc CLA Class: Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In regular form it is around 200HP & 250TQ, but in their AMG version it gets bumped up to 350HP & 332TQ. Looks like the engine is pretty stout and can easily be upgraded to some good numbers. |
Quote:
26psi boost?! haha see i might be able to get behind something like that :bowrofl: |
Found the build notes on the AMG versions: BenzBoost - Mercedes 45 AMG models engine will be a 2.0 liter four cylinder with 26 pounds of boost stock and 354 horsepower call the M133
26lbs of boost is insane. |
Quote:
but my word 26psi and 350hp out of a 2.0L sounds nice. nissan needs to make note of this. |
Well maybe if Nissan puts in the regular engine, they could get access or do their own version of the AMG motor for a Nismo model Z.
Standard model is mid 200HP while the Nismo gets a bump to 300+ HP along with other upgrades. |
Quote:
buttttttttt a 18hp gain with terrible interior is easy to say no to but a 100hp gain and terrible interior i could possibly live with. maybe do a interior swap lol |
