Test Drove Nismo 370Z & Corvette Z06 Back to Back.....
This morning I test drove a Nismo 370Z and a Z06 back to back. Drove the Nismo first, then jumped right into the Z06. Z06 has more power and actually a smoother ride. Having said that I'd take the Nismo any day. I was surprised how much more I liked the Nismo. I've always loved the Z06, but it wasn't even close, the Nismo was so much better built and seems to have just the right balance. A true sports car vs a muscle car. Now I gotta find the right one to buy.
Nothing special about this thread just wanted to tell you guys you've got an awesome car. Enjoy your cars guys! Hope to join your ranks soon. |
I'm so confused right now

i dont know if you have driven a nismo 370z on a twisty road, but if you do, you wont want to drive anything else |
Who's I haven't seen a post from luigi in forever
|
OP, was it a C5 Z06 or C6? I find it hard to believe you liked the Nismo better if it was a C6. And a Corvette is definitely not a muscle car.

So just because it has a powerful V8 it's a muscle car? It's a two seater sports car that is lighter than our cars, and way better handling. I don't know to many muscle cars that have Nurburgring times like the Z06 has posted. To me, a Challenger or Charger are muscle cars... But that's just me lol. Not try to thread jack, just wondering why the OP liked the Nismo more. I could see if it was a C5Z..

I agree with MJB. Z06 is a sports car.
|
The Vettes I have driven sure didn't feel like any of the sprots cars I have driven over the years but ok.

Having just bought a used Z06, I can say that I'm in love, although I have a special place in my heart for my old 370z, God rest her soul.
But opinions may differ. Nothing wrong with people liking the Z more than a Vette. I happen to like the Vette better, but both are fantastic performance cars imo. |

And I'll be honest, I had had my eye on a Z06 for over a year. Driving them back to back changed my mind. I was surprised. |
I dunno man, for me the nismo just feels so connected to the road. Everything feels so tight and perfected.

Gauge +1 for your sig
|
my wife says my Z is a better looking car then a vette......... nuff said LOL
|
My buddy owned a Vette and drove my Nismo, said the Nismo blew his away on the handling! It was a modded 2009 vette with over 400hp.
I am sure the higher end vettes can handle, but from what I hear the lower end ones cant. |

A couple of the guys in my unit have Z06s and they are beastly as well as greatly nimble. I think it has to do with the wide stance, wheels, and weight. Also the fact they most people are either mesmerized and/or intimidated, lol.
|
I secretly want to supercharge my Z but I'm waaaay over my car budget. I wouldn't trade my Z for anything except maybe a GT-R

I've been thinking about how to word how I feel about this car and why I like it so much. I've used the words precise and tight.
I think the best thing I come up with is, I like this car because I'm in control. I know exactly what is going on. I know where the limit is before I get there. I know exactly where the power is. You are a part of the road in this car. It feels like an extension of you. That's the best I can do to describe it. |
I just recently sold my slightly modded 07 Z06 (Katech 110 cam, PSI springs, DRM Bilsteins, Halltech intake, HFC's, AR headers) and bought a 2012 Nismo. That was my second Z06, the other being a modded C-5. In between, I drove a 2001 Viper GTS/ACR and a FFR Cobra. All were great cars in their own right, and the Z06 was damn near the perfect all-around street/track car. I decided to try something new for the experience. I really hardly ever tapped into the 600hp the car had, and repairing the 7.0 in that, or the 8.0 in the Viper made me slightly paranoid.
I think the Nissan feels nearly as planted as the Z06 did, and I can learn to use what the engine has to offer. For me, it's a better daily driver, and fun as hell too. At the end of the day, they are all just cars, and guys and gals like us go through them from time to time. Learn to love what's great about the car you have, instead of complaining about what might be better. Just my .02.... |

Vett's are really nice cars but they loose there value too much. You can loose as much as 20 grand on a vette in only a few of years. If money is no object then buy something worth your while. A friend told me a GTR was not a good buy, and that I could buy a two year old vette for way less. Why would I do that.

I don't know about where you guys live, but here, Corvettes are everywhere. You see them as often as Comaros/Mustangs. There's something special about these Nismos, they're few and far between and handle great.
