Cnt hfc's ordered! Should be on next week!

Hello to all my fellow 370z nismo owners! Hope your enjoying your final summer days !. So I decided to post up my second engine mod because I'm really interested in hearing exhaust sound change on my 2012 nismo and interested in hp gain's from the CNT HFC'S. If anyone has a nismo with this setup I'm definitely interested in hearing your feedback on it. Should be in on this up-coming thurs. Here is a pic again of the CNT HFC'S! Keep you all posted.

Nice! Are you going to install them yourself?

MONISMO370Z 08-12-2012 08:30 PM

I would.. If I had tools and lift. Already setup appointment at friend's shop. I'll post pics and videos when done.

i have them as well. id suggest buying some different gaskets and a new set of bolts. the ones supplied were absolutely terrible. otherwise, they've been running great for me at almost 20k miles (i got them on within the first thousand miles hehe). another problem is that you will eventually get a SES light. either buy some o2 extenders (z1 sells a pair) or stuff a thickly rolled ball of steel wool into the o2 bung

Any videos? Dyno's? On my 08 HR I was running Berk TP's and had steel wool in it.. bought it from a guy off my350z.com check engine would come on every couple hundred to thousand miles and go away by itself sometimes for the most part it was good enough. I know these should come with extenders if not I'll get it.. A a new pair of bolts is something I'll definitely look into.

Thanks for headsup!

no videos or dynos, but the tone definitely gets a little deeper. unfortunately you'll also be introduced to rasp (acceleration) and hiss (deceleration). the steel wool trick has worked for me. i used to get the SES light every few hundred miles until i tightly rolled a ball of steel wool and stuffed it in there. i havent had a SES light in almost 20k miles!!! the bolts included are cheap, so i replaced them with higher quality grade 8 bolts.

oh and id say its butt dyno approved as well :)

Sweet man! Thanks alot. I'll be sure to get some steel wool! Rasp and Hiss seem inevitable lol ! However some people with stillen cbe, meister cbe, indivia gemini exhaust combo w. hfc's are saying otherwise and seems for the most part you cannot hear hiss in the video's. Though I want to keep the Nismo exhaust because I wanna keep it somewhat true to it's name lol since I already changed the wheels.

not sure with the TP's, but the HFC's dont have an elbow in the O2 sensor bung. its extended, and the weld looks pretty solid to me. i havent had any issues in 20k miles and i reguarly check as im under the car. YMMV as always

really?! It should have lifetime warranty if I'm not mistaken as long as it was purchased brand new and not via forums. Sorry to hear. Hopefully mine don't turn out that way.

i had to add the CNT branded elbow to rid my car of the CEL.... it didnt help. waste of $70 extra bucks.

^ Try the steel wool stuff it worked pretty good on my 08 HR. ^

ah...yea in that case, sounds like a total waste of money. z1 sells some o2 extenders that work. also...like i said above, the steel wool trick works wonders. the key is to put on a pair of gloves, and roll a tight ball just big enough to fit into the sensor hole!

Is this what you got chops? I'm gonna get it before I go to get HFC's installed this thursday. Let me know thanks!
