Front plate fix

To make a very long story short. I told my dealer on the way to pick up my car not to drill into the bumper and there was a miscommunication and they did intact drill into the bumper.

After meeting With the manager , they agreed to get the holes filled and have the bumper fully repainted.

Is this what you guys would settle for ?

Do I really want a new car to be painted?

But then again what are my other options ?

If I het a new bumper from them it still needs to be painted.

Imnthinking about leaving it alone for the sake of keeping the factory paint.

I just need some advice

My 3 week old car had to get repainted. Not from holes but from my DD driving into a concert flower pot.

As long as the shop gets the paint right "and that is a IF" than you should not be able to see the fresh paint from the old.

I know I was very worried with mine being black cherry and the paint matching. However the shop did a fantastic job matching and blending. So it boils down to how good the shop is.

If it really bothered you I think you could have denied delivery.

That wasn't an option in my case. I needed special financing and I was way to excited . It bothers me more now than when I saw it then . Plus this car was hard to find let alone a regular Z

I bought my car used with the plate already installed.(stupid dealer) I didn't like the look but I thought I'd be legal for a change. After I had the car for a few days I decided I didn't like the look. I removed the plate braket and found some small white plastic plugs at Lowes. Put a little clear silicone on the back and popped them in. Since my car is white it worked out well. Doesn't look as good as no holes but better than the plate bracket. I figured in a few years with stone clips the front end might need repainting anyway I could have them repaired then.

It would bother me too.... but I think fixing & re-painting it would be just as good as replacing with a new one. I would just live with it to be honest...leave the front plate. It's one less headache, especially in NY. They never use to pull people over for it, but lately, they do. I have the Stillen bracket on mine. You could always put the Nismo mustache if it really bothers you....and I thought the holes were suppose to be drilled into the plastic/unpainted part?

Edit. Nm, didn't realize it's a Nismo

I think the plugs don't look too bad. Better than the little divits the car has brand new.

In 2009 I bought a new Black Maxima. I live in Illinois, the car came from a dealer Indiana so there was no front plate on it. I liked the car and really liked that is didn't have a front plate. I decided to buy it but I wanted it cleaned so I could inspect it before I signed any paperwork. The porter took the car in back to hand wash and the first thing he did was put the front bracket on. Unbeleiveable!! I almost told them to keep the car, but being in a state that requires a front plate I decided to take the car and just conform to the law. Again after having it a week or so I found some small black plastic plugs at an Ace Hardware store. Same thing only it was less noticeable being Black. Again, it's not perfect but it's a solution.

I agree. Regardless of what they tell you, you can deny the car if its not exactly what you agreed upon...

I had an issue with getting my nismo and they wanted to drive it from the other dealership about 150 miles. I said no way, its a new car and i dont want that. They asked why? I told them if it comes with paint chips in the front from driving it down, im refusing the car. They said whats the difference if you get paint chips or if we do it driving it down? I laughed and said, "i dont own the car yet if you drive it down"..... They sprung to have it put on a truck and brought down knowing i would refuse it...

I have said it before and I will say it again. Check into a product called "Mower Axle" Here is the website...

Mower Deck Axles,Carrera,Cayman,John Deere,Kubota

It screws into where the front tow hook threads into the frame throught the bumper. No muss, no fuss.:happydance:
