I just curbed my passenger front rim yesterday as well, I was sick at my stomach. The damage is maybe 2" long but mostly on the edge rather than the side so it's not too noticeable. I just got done paying $100 for fixing my wife's wheel last month, this is getting expensive! Now I have to decide if I can live with it or pay to get it fixed. :shakes head:

When I bought my Nismo month. The dealership offer an tire and wheel insurance program for road hazhards for $280 for 5 years I believe. Good thing I got it. I washed my Z yesterday for the first time. And I found 3 rims with damage from the first owner. The right front was curbed about 8", the left front about 2", and there is a dinger on one of the spokes on the right rear. :icon14: Now I have to make an appointment to get it fixed.

IMO you shouldnt get your wheels fixed by the mobile guys. our wheels, along with the rays sports wheels are hyper silver and involve a much more intricate painting process (2-3 step paint process if i remember correctly). using those mobile guys the paint will just fade over time. spend the 150 or so to get it completely stripped and repainted!
i have 2 curbed front wheels, due to some dumb decisions/luck as well, and ill be sending them off to have them stripped, welded, sanded and repainted sometime this spring! |
i thought those mobile wheel places use the same paints as the in-house places do. just a matter of them carrying around their mobile compressors and airbrushing tools.
and dont they offer life-time warranty? |
I know the guy I have used in the past offers a lifetime warranty.
