Wider tires

I just went thru all 16 pages on this site looking for information on replacing the tires with wider ones and didn't find the answer I'm looking for. So my question is this; can I put RE11's on my car 265/35 front and 305/30 rears without any rubbing or spacers needed? I'm replacing all 4 tires and before I spend $1500. on tires I would like to hear from anybody with this set up. Any information or reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jose

They'll fit fine. You'd have to dig deep but the information's there. I was planning on doing the rears with those size but 275's for fronts. The 265s are fine.

here is my opinion on this.

yes you can go wider front and back, even with spacers. problem is you start to lose tire height. i cant ride on rubber band tires just to get a 3/4-1" wider tire. the factory tires are a great fit, are generally cheaper, look great once you add spacers and a drop, and they can take a harder hit than a 25 series tire. the roads here suck!

You don't lose tire height at all. The profile number is a ratio of width to height, so obviously as the tire gets wider the profile percentage gets lower but the height is exactly the same provided you select the correct tire. I generally find it easiest to select tires comparing diameters and/or RPM against stock.

On a related topic, below is a useful tool.

Tyrestretch.com - Downloads

Download the excel spreadsheet. The only thing is, for the rim width, always add 1". Example, Nismo rear rim width will be 11.5 instead of 10.5.

Stock tire size fits great, RE-11's available in the size too. It's a taller than average size.
There are very few choices for good tires on stock Nismo wheels. And then not too many options for wider wheels!

my set up is 265/35 and 305/30 lowered on swift and 15mm spacer all corners no issue at all.

skydvr 01-06-2012 12:17 AM

I just ordered a set of Yokohama Advan Neova 255/35 front and 295/30 rear.

Imperial 01-08-2012 02:15 AM

325/30-19 seems to be the closest to stock tire width by my research and calculation but may be too wide for our vihicle... someone please corect me if I'm wrong.

_ace_ 01-08-2012 05:50 PM

My tires fit fine, 265/35R19 and 295/35R19. Another 10mm out back wouldn't be an issue, but you would want to consider dropping to a 30 aspect ratio. For me, they just didn't offer anything wider on AD08s, and I'd want 275s up front if I had 305 rears. Also, check your tire diameter and make sure you're fine with the speedo error.

To get the aspect ratio worked out, here's a decent site.

I don't know if you want to use the default 370z sizes as a baseline or the Nismo sizes--I wonder if they recalibrated the speedo or not.

Thorazine_IM 08-09-2012 03:50 PM

Just got a 2013 370z base model. Thinking about putting wider tires on the stock 18s to get that aggressive wide tires look from the rear. Any suggestions?

Thorazine_IM 08-13-2012 07:51 PM

Aight so I just had new tires installed on my stock 18x9 rear wheels only. I got 305 45 18 nitto drag radials on them. All my warning lights came on and speedometer not working and engine doest turn off when I push button. I have to hold it for seconds. The car just seems confused. How do I fix this. Anyone guys?
