I dislike you for the things that I don't have...but :iagree:

Sorry to be nitpicky, but isn't the 370 (and Nismo) rev limited to 7500rpm?

Chuck33079 07-20-2013 07:06 PM

You can raise it with a tune.

Come out of T11 in 3rd. Shift to 4th at 7400~7600 rpm. Hold to 8,000 rpm because soon as I hit 8,000 rpm. I'm hard on the brakes for T1. Soon as the rpms drop down to about 5,000 rpms. Down shift to 3rd. Still hard on the brakes.

AQUAMAN 07-20-2013 10:23 PM

Family is at yogibear park in Waller, tx... Lots of kids around and every kid that saw me had to pick up their jaws after I passed :eek2:. Everyone seems to think it looks like the Batmobile... I sense a theme coming lol

chii370 07-22-2013 07:22 PM

just to reiterate what ive already stated...... this thing is imo the perfect look. its what the 370z SHOULD have been, not just the special nismo model itself. I steal looks from the drivers OF porches, and mercs, and BMW's. This thing is an absolute stud to look at and im pretty confident it will always be one of the cars we look back on 40 years from now and think, DAMN that car was sexy.

Is she an instructor? I love those gestures. But I understnd none of them coz I've never been to the track yet.:icon17: Like the one holding the steering wheel, I'd interpret it as "Sit tight, punch the gas!":rofl2:

KingJoseph 07-26-2013 12:56 AM

Today...

Guy at stoplight: "Dude, what IS that? A 370?!"
Me: Yeah, it's a Nismo.
Guy: What is a Nismo?!
Me: It's a trim level of the 370Z.
Guy: Sick, man. Looks awesome.

Funny, 'cause to me my car is dirty and not looking its best... but still draws attention from random people on the street.

Nuki 07-26-2013 10:02 AM

Same here. My Nismo is my daily, and Kansas City has wickedly weird weather. So it has a tendency to always be dirty (I gave up washing it every day) because it's always exposed to the elements. Regardless, even when it's not looking its best, I get stares. Magnetic Black is impossible to keep clean, but the good thing is from ten feet out and further, you don't see dirt.

Two weeks ago-
Guy in his late teens at gas pump: That's a wicked machine, I bet I could beat you off the line.
Me: (I look over at his beat up late 80s chevy S-10) I bet you probably could, but I doubt you could beat me going around a corner. (I'm all grown up nowadays, and don't street race anyways.)
Guy: Is that a Z? That thing looks like a beast, be sure to take good care of her (while completely ignoring his girlfriend in the passenger seat).
Me: I will, you do the same. (Her being the jealous looking girl next to him.)

I think he totally missed what I was saying. You'd have thought he'd never seen a car before.

NismoZ70 07-26-2013 12:26 PM

Someone asked me yesterday if my Nismo was a Porsche. It was at the front of the store where they stopped me as the car was at a distance and they could not see the Nissan emblems. I thought that was pretty sweet. They were surprised when I said it was a Nissan.

NelsonV 07-26-2013 07:00 PM

Yea, I notice that too. Only one problem though is that every now and then, someone in a moving vehicle behind, on the side or in front, get too close to my car. It freaks me out.

Elan 07-27-2013 05:06 AM

I was chillin in front of Stoney River BSing with a buddy. Some older guy came out and while walking to his car yells to his wife (30 feet behind him), "W-wh...what is that red car?? Is that a Porsche? Look at the fin! Honey look at that beautiful red car". I smiled but pretended it wasn't mine. I was parked behind my buddies murdered out C6 Vette too. Made me feel like a million bucks.

faya 07-27-2013 05:47 PM

Yesterday when I was giving her a bath, a guy dropped by and took pictures of it. After him, 2 more that are cleaning also their cars, gave good compliments as well saying " Man you got a nice car! You do.." Priceless!! :)

I get the porche comments about every time I get gas. Not sure why people cant look at the big *** nissan symbol on the front and back.

NissanGuy23 08-02-2013 11:59 AM

I've been getting guys holding their arms out of their trucks with thumbs up alot.

Some kids at a car wash asked what it was and i said Nissan 370 and they looked disappointed. They were like "a NISSAN?!! ...oh..."

Come on now. I never see you on the raod:tup:

Now to get rid of the rear big mac and they will really be scratching their heads.

roplusbee 08-10-2013 01:48 PM

LOL, for real. I think the stock bumpers will look weird without the Emblems, though I have been kicking around the idea of replacing them with Z emblems.

Baer383 08-10-2013 04:16 PM

Mine would get a lot more attention if I would stop working on it and take it out of the garage ,I haven't drove it in a month and a half.:shakes head:

LOL I'm amazed I never see you either, and you're literally around the corner from me.

I dipped the hamburger, so it's hard to tell is a Nissan. Makes people have to look twice before they figure it out.

Hell I was just in Blue Springs today going down 7hwy. Traffic on I-70 is starting to scare me now with the new front end.:eekdance:

cv129 08-12-2013 06:25 PM

Passenger in a 996 Targa torqued his head about a full 120 degrees as they slowly passed by in the HOV lane. Still looking at me after they were half car ahead already.

Made my day

Rusty 08-17-2013 07:39 PM

Driving into Ocean City Md on Rt50 today. Traffic started to back up the closer we got to OC. Sitting at a stop light. Had a toyo suv with 4 teenage boys in it. The one yells at me. Asking how much the car costs. This is the third time someone has asked me this. So going for the shock factor. I told him $160,000 and pulled away. You could hear them talking about it. LMAO At the next light. They caught back up to me. I told them I had about $60.000 in it. Then the kid asked me how much HP. Going for the shock factor again. I told the kid 700 and change. LMAO I could see 4 jaws on the floor. LMAO. The light turn green and I let them hear the FI exhaust alitt;e as the traffic in front of me opened up alittle. The wife told me, I was a bad boy for leaving those boys like that. Hell, I was having fun with them. LMAO :roflpuke2:

Necrobump, but I only drive my Nismo in the spring/summer months when it's nice, so I had to post this one.

Driving home from work yesterday next to a Mercedes GL SUV; look over and the passenger was recording a video of my car as they paced me. I was just cruising ~65 miles an hour; not really sure what my exhaust sounds like in person from the outside, but it may have attracted their attention. My car is just lightly modded with HFCs, FI CF CBE, and dark tint for aesthetic purposes.

Gotta love the unspoken compliment, though.

Lol. I've gotten that when I'm on the bike. Recently I found out that 3 of my Captains, my Major and Colonel know the Z is mine. Every so often they make a comment to me about it. And apparently Fire Rescue has been talking about my Z all around the county...

1SlowNizzy 04-13-2014 01:35 PM

I find it funny how people react to the Nismo, I love my car but it's no Ferrari lol. Where I live you don't see Nismo's, I live in Mustang country smh. People ask me all the time is that a Porsche lol, I've caught people posing next to the car for pictures in the parking lott :rofl2:

BlackZeda 04-13-2014 09:57 PM

Driving back to work on Monday after watching the end of the NASCAR race. At a stop light some jerk in what I thought was a silver Hyundai Sonata makes and aggressive move over two lanes and tailgates me. I take a high speed left turn and continue, and he catches up to tail gate me. At the next light I accelerate with great prejudice and take a curve at the speed a NISMO should take it at. The jack-off in the silver TAURUS turns on his lights and pulls me over. The jack-off Sherriff's deputy states that he had a hard time keeping up with me. Well no-sh*t...you're in a Taurus and I am in a Z. Total entrapment and I will fight it in court. I would like the judge to admit that dangerous driving is the Sherriff's policy to induce a driver into a careless driving ticket.

fuct 04-14-2014 09:38 AM

when i get tailgated i do the opposite and tap my brakes and drive 5 under the limit.

Claim you were afraid it was someone with malicious intent following you to rob you or car jack you. You were in reasonable fear of your property and well being and slowing down or pulling over only would have put you in more risk.

I used that defense when some guy was pacing me on the freeway on my way home one night. I slowed down, he slowed down. I sped up a bit, he sped up. I had no clue what his intentions were, but I wasn't about to find out. I jetted up ahead and left him behind but around the corner was a cop. When he pulled me over, my wife and I both explained what happened. He let us off, but told us next time to pull over or call the police. I explained I had a conceal and pulling over might have resulted in something far worse.

InnerDragon10 04-18-2014 06:28 AM

I love the looks my MB Nismo gets! Haven't had people posing next to the car to take photos as mentioned above, but I've seen people walking by stop and take a look around the car lol. I can't say I blame them  Haven't had any cars try to take me on yet (hm, too bad) but I've definitely had a couple ricers slow their roll as I cruise past (perhaps so as not to appear as though they're looking for a race?!)

I sort of want to take Diablo cruising through Ybor City or Channelside (Tampa FL) buuuut I've decided its not worth some douche parking next to me and carelessly swinging his door out, or a bunch of idiots touching/posing next to it.. Which are exactly the people you find going out at night in Tampa.

Houston Z33 06-21-2014 10:38 AM

I was on a damned TEST DRIVE and every car was staring.

kuyo 06-28-2014 08:05 AM

I get looks all the time..Was at a subway this past thursday and a guy came and told me nice car...He owned a 240,280 and a 300 and said I had a very nice looking 350Z lol..i just smiled and said thanks

FISH22 06-28-2014 01:01 PM

A LOT of attention. Some of it is good, some is bad.

Minhtin 06-28-2014 08:22 PM

Mine gets a lot of attention as well. From me! If only I could sleep inside of her.
