All the NISMO needs is the tech package as standard to take care of the value argument, which is very relative for what you get as it is. Could make a good argument for a mechanical or at least helical limited slip, if not a better intake system to match the exhaust, but not bad at all.

Going forward would be nice to have at least the NISMO Z, if not the Z35 share development as a de-tuned NA RWD 2-seat version of the R36.

That would certainly help. Charging $3,500 for basically Nav and a backup cam is kind of crazy.

Similar debate on the UK forum. If you look at the cost of other brands "track" versions of their 2 seater / sports coupes then in percentage terms what you get with the Nismo package is actually pretty good (note; not including the GM/Ford cars we don't get across the pond). The mark-up on M3, RS, AMG, Honda R models in percentage terms over base models is huge.

But BMW, Mercedes, and Audi almost always give you a *substantially* upgraded engine when you step up to their top-tier model. That's not the case with the Nismo Z.

Much easier when the base engine is turbocharged...

The price is also substantially higher as well

I'll take my Nismo with FI TT anyday vs my teammates GTR, M3, M4, S4 or AMG.

WITH the TT, still pay anywhere from 20-70k less and have a car that both performs and handles better then all three. Not to mention, the z is a "driver's car", vs all that computer assisting bs that I can't stand.

I just want to know two things:

1. Where did they find that guy?
2. Where is he getting his facts?

I agree with 1cleanZ. I will take the Z all day (twin turbo of course) and decimate all others. Oh yeah, and I like the mechanical behavior of the Z. I just wish I could disable more of the electronics without having too many issues, lol.

If I heard brilliant 1 more time I was going to vomit. That being said it's funny to me that he rags on the age of the motor when the LS7 has been around longer. Also the Z28 he kept referring too is almost twice the money when fully loaded as a NISMO. I drove a similar priced Camaro to the NISMO and it just felt bulky and kind of sluggish compared to my Z. I considered a STR8 challenger, but at the end of the day it looked like any other challenger, had a lower weight to HP ratio than the Z, and didn't feel like a track car. I also stole mine for 35K new so I didn't have to pay the NISMO mark up every one complains about. Just my 2 pennies

I agree...but....let's admit that their V8 rumble does sound better than the VQ37 (speaking as a Nismo owner).

Add a Fast Intentions TDX or TT-TDX (3") if you are boosted and you won't think that way!
