Hopefully, this will change. GM is finally getting on the bandwagon and introduced TWO new V6 engines their moving too. Emissions is forcing them too. A V8 will never be as effecient as a V6. No matter how much tech is built in. They have now maxed the LS series and LT series V8's. Granted, 20 years ago 30mpg for a V8 was UNHEARD of or imagined.
They are doing it now. But, moving beyond is another story. My 427 cu in Vette motor could return 26 mpg if drven 'normally'. Add: and it was capable of lighting the tires up in third gear at 100 mph....(LS7). Last edited by tim414; 04-27-2015 at 11:35 AM. |
