I am planning on test driving a Nismo sometime next week, or next weekend. Thank God Nissan still has that 0% interest until the end of April. I was thinking about possibly purchasing the Nismo in June or July, but it might be this month......hehehehe |
After the 3 spacers (only in the front per side) were removed the front height went down by about .5 inch. Not sure if the whole car is lower than the regular 370Z. I guess it depends on what tire/wheel package is installed. It was love at first sight with my Nismo and it just happened that Nissan is offering the 0% APR. Saw it Sunday (March 25th) during a drive by and took it home the next day!

Thanks and I appreciate it. From what I gathered it is only the front & each side could have possibly one to three spacers. I really want to test drive one right now....lol
Got those too. traded an 09 base 370z w/ sport package for the nismo and first thing i noticed was the suspension being alot stiffer. thought it was normal being more sportier.

After reading this post I went out to my garage and looked to see if my car had them. To my amazement it did! I jacked the car up and removed them in 5 seconds. It brought my front end down 3/8". I bought the car new in 2009 and it's always serviced at the Nissan dealership. I can't believe the dealers not aware of this. Looks like I'll be calling them tomorrow. http://www.the370z.com/images/icons/icon8.gif

I've just stumbled upon this thread, having taken delivery of my new Nismo on Friday. Much to my relief, I found no spacers on either side.
Perhaps Nissan has gotten the word out to their dealerships? Although my dealer has been pretty good with service. I also have a 2011 Maxima, and they've installed some aftermarket springs/wheels quite competently. |
It must depend on the dealer.
I picked up my Nismo yesterday and they were still on there. Both sides. Much better ride (and look) after removing. |
Can't believe this is still happening lol
Put on about 1000 miles before reading this post. They were still on mine too. Dealer felt so bad he gave me vouchers for 3 free oil changes and a tank of gas.
Well, no ****...mine's got 20K miles, still has the spacers from what I can tell. Creeeap.

first time reading this thread. gonna go check mines NOW! brb.. edit: just checked mine +1 rep to my dealership getting it removed! :tiphat: |
Damn i just ordered lowering springs for my Nismo ... lol
Lol, unbelievable that people had these things on for so many miles and imagine how many test Nismos got bad reviews for suspension and ride quality because the damn spacers.
haha but how come some have these spacers and others not :/
Hi I just bought an Nismo and my question is with a jack can you do this yourself or do you need to go to a dealership, and was it hard to remove and how
I just bought my 370Z Nismo on 21 Jan 2013. I love it. hey thanks for the heads up on those stupid spacers. I knew the roads were a little bumpy here, but not that bumpy. Cranked my wheels, left and right right, and there they were, just like in your photo.. Thanks a ton!! Not to mention the 50psi cold tire pressure I had as well.

Uff, thanks!
Thanks man for the warning. I took my new Nismo out of the dealer yesterday and found it very stiff, not like the test drive. I went back today and ask them to take those things out. Now the car runs smooth. THANKS!!!
HAHAHA my Nismo has 60k miles on it....I just removed these things this weekend. Crazy!
just got done reading this and thought... no way mine wouldn't have it.. swear to god i wlked outside at work and sure enough they're on there still. haha wow... looks like i'll be borrowing a lift...
Giving this a Bump for our NEW Nismo owners to look into IF they're experiencing from a stiff suspension.
Mine is stiff as hell, I'll be checking this today, I'm sure they are on there.
Wrong, mine were gone

Shipping blocks were still in
Just got my 2015 Nismo home and checked for the shipping blocks in the front springs and just like many have posted they were still installed. I've removed them but I plan to alert the dealership so they can get educated. Thanks to this forum I knew what to look for. Thanks guys!

Literally just jack the car to remove some load from the spring, then pull them put by hand. |
Is this only on nismos?
Yep
6600 miles and mine were still on. Luckily just one on each.

Thanks! 1240 miles and the inner spacers were discovered and removed.

This thread is almost 7 years old and this continues to happen. After reading this thread three weeks ago and having owned my '17 Nismo Tech for just a week, my curiosity prompted me to go out to the garage around midnight and check my front suspension. I thought about it for a minute and admitted that the ride seemed harsher than I had expected when traversing uneven pavement. Sure enough, I found two spring spacers still installed on each side. Took 5 minutes to jack up each side and remove the spacers. I can't believe this is still happening after all these years.
you expect too much from dealership workers and technicians. 99% are not car enthusiasts and are just trying to get through the day to get paid at a 9-5 job they are most probably miserable being there and they couldnt care less about you or your car or a Z or a nismo Z or spacers or no spacers. check it yourself and remove them after you drive it home. telling the techs and sales people how to do their jobs backfires more often than not in my experience. just do it yourself.
Add another car to the list, three on each side.
Are you guys contacting your stealerships to report their f@ck up's? This should be good for some freebies.
