going from ls1 to 370z. nice intro eh?

as the topic says im fixing to trade in my 2001 Trans am for a 370z. always loved the Z cars. i only have one quick question atm.

are there any differences in the 2009 and 2010 370z? im seeing some having a 7spd auto and some with 6speed being listed.... i was under the impression there all 7spd autos?

Vegasboricua 03-13-2010 01:35 AM

Hell to the nah! Manuals are 6spd and Autos come in 7speed. I'm not too sure why that is tho. Welcome to the board by the way!

jtown82 03-13-2010 01:58 AM

ah ok. thats what threw me off. thanks.

2010 added in-cabin air filter, heated mirrors, and a few navi. goodies: phonebook and streaming audio. s'bout it. The roadster and 40th ed. are new too.

ah

well im pretty much only interested in the base 2dr auto. i guess im gonna go for an 09 since none of the performance specs are diff in 2010. because wow these dealerships are price gouging the hell out of the 2010's. maybe its just because im in arkansas and import are alot harder to find. but 40grand to me is just way over priced. and then another dealership in memphis is trying to claim the msrp is 36k for the 2009 base model. when nada and kbb show 31k.

sometimes living in the south really sucks. somehow i dont think mentioning im a veteran is gonna help me with these local dealers hehe. ive seen one place selling a new 2009 for 31k.. which i still think is a tad high but. is there anyone else in the arkansas area that can enlighten me on what you paid? im gonna do my best to force a dealer to bring a price to the 28grand range.

I think invoice for the 09' base is 28,050, I paid 27,500, you should be able to do somewhere around there. Keep in mind that you dont HAVE to buy the car in your town man, dont be afraid to travel out of state or a ways away if need be to buy the car.

Yes as you read in the other posts, 6spd is the 6 speed manual and 7spd is 7 speed auto-manual. If I were you I would just compare the prices that they give you and see if it's really worth the extra thousands for a 2010. If I were shopping for a z I would get a 2010. Heated mirror + heated/cooled seats! Anyways, welcome to the greatest 370z forums in the world, the world!

Cooling seats only come in the roadster I believe.
Also welcome, others have answered your question, but any more let us know, we normally do not bite. :ugh2:

well i talked to a dealer. they have a manual selling for 26980. but ofcourse i want the auto. so i told them get an auto as close to that price as possible and we have a deal.

though first he tried to sale me a 350z.. and i said no thanks 370z only. he then asked if i would be up to taking a 2010 model. i said sure if they price doesnt change to much.

i also let them know i work at a bank so a loan is no issue for me. so hopefully that works in my favor. but i gave him an ultimate if what expect price wise.

and yea im in south ark. and the dealer is in memphis. 3 hours away but doable.

it all will fall on what they will give me for my 2001 trans am with 108k miles on it.

perfect mechanical conditions but its been in one fender bender. scuffs on the door and a dent on the quarter panel and the rims are not in perfect shape. nada showed my car at that mileage for around 7 grand. if they get around that and the z anywhere around 26-28k that would put me around 30-31grand after the upside portion of my TA. that would make me a happy camper. and obviously i pulled the veteran card rofl. though that hasnt really worked for me since 2003.

Be prepared to start modding to gain back some of the LS1 thrust you'll be giving up!

Here is a helpful tid bit for you: http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-p...ice-price.html
Help you out if the dealer finds a 2010 and tries to play with the price, also watch out for the those 500USD dealer fees they try to throw in there.
