Ah... that new car smell...
Hey everyone... just joined this forum. I'm likely the youngest member around at just under 17 years old...:gtfo2:
:hello: Regardless, I am not one of those idiot high school kids who don't know a damn thing about cars at all. That being said, I am indeed a purist; this 370Z of mine is going to see the best damn treatment where in the Midwest (and the only 370 I've seen is my own, but there's quite a few 350's around here). If anything, a mod I'd get is a Cobb AccessPORT once it is released for the 370Z. As a car enthusiast as well, I plan to do as much DIY I can with a few friends I know who have worked on cars since my age and are now in their mid-20's. Here are some pictures of my garaged 6-speed Brilliant Silver 370Z Touring. EDIT: 2009 Nissan 370Z Touring in Brilliant Silver, 6-speed manual, Sport Package, no Navigation. http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/v...DSC04454-1.jpg http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/v...9/DSC04459.jpg http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/v...9/DSC04460.jpg http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/v...9/DSC04466.jpg |
welcome! you know, the new car smell in the z wasn't as strong as I remember it. Maybe it has something to do with that news story a year ago that new car smell was really just a bunch of toxic chemicals.

Yes it is can make you sick and have nasty poo!
However sir WELCOME!!!! to the370z :D sick car. |
I don't think I've been having the runs recently. So, maybe it isn't toxic chemicals?
It really just smells like fresh unwrapped leather (bought completely new; 18 miles at time of purchase). |
rofl, I dont know if I have ever gotten a case of the poos from new car smell, but probably still isn't healthy. :D
|
To me it just smells like "hot sexy car." Which I suppose also translates to "370Z."
|
it's the new leather and new plastic and chemical smell.........mmmmmmmmmmmmm
you can buy new car smell also...keep it new car smell forever |
I've never smelled a "new car smell" that actually smelly like new car smell.
|
thats because you gotta use tons of chemicals to protect the rubber floor mats and dash board, i did that to my cars and it felt like someone punched my face each time i open the door for like a week, then the smell went away after a month and a half.
|
Nice car. I don't see anything wrong with enjoying the car at your age or any age really, but it tends to be an issue on Z forums for some reason.
With that said, no need to list your age, then ask people not to be jealous or condescending. Don't see the point in that. |
I know the feeling... I don't know what my dealer did for their "AutoGard" but it doesn't smell too bad. I remember when my parents had bought a new car back in 2005; they had the same scotchgard or whatever procedure done and every time you stepped in the car... then decided to inhale, it would smell like melting plastic and burning hair... for two months. We even left the windows open all the time and the garage smelled like garbage and plastic and that peculiar Asian ethnic food smell...
EDIT: Well, the whole issue with younger people driving high performance cars and doing stupid things with them isn't exactly a rare issue either. I suppose the asking is stupid though. Even around here there's tons of ricers... no respectable high end tuners. Just ricers. In Mustangs and Civics. Sad, really. |

I read the rules and as long as there is no excessive or unnecessary swearing, then it's fine it seems. More like the rules don't mention profanity whatsoever.
So that being said, yeah, **** does happen. |
lol....so new car smell made frost poop......that's so weird, i bet he just ate a burrito before picking up the new car.......hahahhaha
|
Actually, it made k20 poop ;p
|
my bad................still bizarre though....lol
|
Atleast you picked the right color ;)
|
Quite honestly, I wanted a Monterey Blue with Gray Leather. Oh well.
|
Blue with gray leather? Those colors don't go together :icon14::D
|
blue on grey cloth looks bad, blue on grey leather, which really looks white isnt bad
|
I'm pretty sure that blue could come with gray leather... or was it cloth?
Either way I would have preferred blue, but I love my Z regardless. The soul is in the engine. |

Oddly enough, white with blue accents sounds good. |
Lol ooops no frost I dont eat burriots that ***** nasty and makes your poop the consistency of the poo seen on 2 girls one cup!
THere is no pooping when im in the car regardless if its a 1zz-fe or k20z3 or vq37hr oh jesus sorry for ruining your thread sir. Nice car more pics :) |
At some point I wanted to get custom seats, like BRIDE's or something, but the stock ones are so comfortable... plus I have heated seats and all so I don't know what would happen to the wiring and such. I'd love some colored accents, but my car is all grayscale so it doesn't work out too well, lol
That aside I think poop jokes are funny. No, I'm not immature, I just laugh at everything- and it isn't too good at times... EDIT: One thing; I'm one of those people who think naming a car is fine, and since the car is mine... I want to name it. Suggestions? |
hey buddy, just take it ez ok? you are young and the last thing anyone would want is a forum member hurt..or a totaled Z...I got my G37 when I was 19, and I got so many tickets.... it was as if i was sitting on the toilet and i got a ticket..thankfully no accidents *knocks on wood..these cars are fast yet the sense of speed in these cars do not seem fast and can be pushed very easily...when you see that mustang or 335i or any other car wanting to race...let it go...cuz the satisfaction in beating those cars does not compare to the satisfaction of finding a great driving road for some spirited driving...just be aware of your surroundings, improve your throttle control and youll be fine...best of luck...enjoy it to your fullest

I definitely understand the "sense of speed," at least to some degree. I was in second and going to 3500 RPM and I was at 40mph already... plus you can barely even see the speedometer because the steering wheel blocks it. It's so small that I feel it's going 20mph even though it's really at 45-60mph, just the scale is so small compared to most luxury coupes that I've been driving. I've already had cars rev at me and give me the "look," then I rev just a bit and smile... then I start normally and laugh my *** off as they shoot off the line and either stop really fast, get caught by a cop (first time experiencing that... such a wonderful feeling, makes your day just so much better), or damage their car (I've smelt plenty a burnt clutch). Where I live is full of higher income people, so I see a fellow Z driver, usually a 350Z, and I smile and wave, and they're like, "nice car man, how does it feel" and I'm just like "yeah, it's a wonderful car." |

Nice car bro!
Just remember to drive safe! Safety always comes first  |

"Kids are bringing their parents and buying cars like Mitsubishi EVOs and Subaru WRX's... and then they crash them going 90 on a local road. But see, the 370Z looks fast. The EVO and WRX are fast too, but they look like a family sedan! And you get the added security of much better steering and braking. With a car that goes fast, it needs to stop fast... so at least you already know this car is capable of high speed." hahahahaha... |
I say congratulation on your new Z and be safe out there!
|
Thanks man!
|
Nice to see another Chicagoan nabbing a Z. Which dealership did you pick yours up at? How did it go? VPP?

Evanston to my knowledge was pretty great; spent five - six hours there... just knocking off dollars like mad... they never lost their patience (although you can tell they're just getting tired), and they brought out two sales associates, their sales manager, and the financial manager... even the general manager. They're good people, and they've pretty much given me a lot to expect from a dealer. I'm one that hates acryonyms so I never figure them out, but clarify, VPP? |
Damn sexy car you have there :)

Nice, I've heard good things about Autobarn Evanston. VPP is Nissan's vehicle purchase program. A search of the forum should bring up a lot of threads; one of our forum members, Robert, has been offering it to all of us here: http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...i-vehicle.html
