Nothing much. Just means you show up in each other's "friends" section on your profile.

Welcome! Apparently you are doing much better than some! Your wife *allowed* you to purchase a Nissan 370Z! You are doing great so far!!! Now go negotiate your next purchase: A V1 radar detector with InvinsiCord. ;)

radar

:icon18:
I hope you are not implying I intend to travel even a single mph above the speed limit?

The use a lot of laser around here so its not quite so easy...I have purchased a used Klingon cloaking device...

still waiting

I still dont have the car.. I feel like a kid who finds that Christmas keeps getting further and further away! Minor problem in that I had to wait for stock sales and money transfer but the money is there now so I am hoping i can get the car asap. but I am so excited I have not been able to sleep at all for the last three days... I told my wife I was never this happy since i found out that girl at work wasn't pregnant!:icon18: She has no sense of humor..:(

Heres a question. If I am using the paddle shifters and I forget and slow down to a very slow speed.. will the engine stall or does it automatically downshift for me?

Also if i floor the accelerator but dont downshift as much as I should will that harm the engine with the extra load? Sometimes I want just a smooth increase in speed without all the engire noise... esp when I am trying to convince the wife this is just a small economy car.

What positions did you liquidate? Just curious.

The car will automatically shift to neutral to prevent from stalling when you stop. As for accelerating, I think you're not going to convince the wife of anything economy if you're asking about "flooring the pedal", regardless of what you do with the transmission. :rofl2:

I sold shared in Vanguard Wellsley income fund.. for some reason it takes longer than selling individual stocks for the trade and for the money to arrive.
I am one and a half hours from getting my car!! I absolutely could not sleep last night or the two nights before!!!

But back to my question.. if I shift at low rpms at full throttle will that harm the engine since its always doing more work?

RiCharlie 10-21-2010 08:16 AM

Well I am all set to get the car but I know my wife is negative.. she said she doesnt like the idea and added " I just hope this car is not low to the ground!!"
Oh how I envy the single ones!!

SophiaZ 10-21-2010 08:33 AM

Hopefully she somes around. It took my husband 3 days til he finally agreed to letting me get it.
Yes, its alittle on the low side ;)

Hey gang here is a laugh.. I got the car today and she came with me. Well I drove very slowly and she commented on the fact that the car seemed noisy but I explained that was because that is just the way sport cars are. Then she said she liked the heated seats.. well to get to the point on the highway I wanted to pass someone so I pushed the accelerator about one third of the way down.. and that was all.,She commented, "Well now I see what this car can do!!" Yup!! that is what she said..when I was not even half way down on the pedal... she hasnt a clue!! She is a great wife and I could not ask for better but sometimes a little discretion is best all around!!

SophiaZ 10-21-2010 03:37 PM

Niiiiice. Now, if you get a chance get a tune for that badboy. Some people like to get an extra valet tune so the valet driver doesn't rev the engine up or race it around the parking lot. I suggest getting a wife tune just in case she grabs your keys on 'mistake'. :) Pictures!
