Thanks guys and I appreciate the comments.
I totally agree with the "not treating every light like a track" mentality. SO many kids have that mentality these days. Everyone tries to show off their cars and tries to see how fast they can hit on the highway and ****. I don't need to show off with my car, baby.....i already kno it can smoke anyones :D except for the many 2009 M3's that kids at my HS own. Ridiculous ****. Atleast I put in hard work for my car. But giving $70k+ cars to 17 year olds without makin them pay? **** I was I had THAT kinda money. II'm not a racer and I fear the road. Which is a good thing, because the minute you don't fear the road is when you get careless and get into an accident Also, high def videos/pictures will be available as soon as the car gets in my driveway. So let me know what type of video shots you'd like to see so I can get em ready for you. |
Congrats. Keep it safe. :driving:

Congratulations Capo - It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it? I'll never forget the day my - $hit, I forgot - but at my age that's normal.
Oh yes, I remember - the day I managed to get to the dealership to see my beautiful black 350z arrive on the back of a truck, still in its protective plastic wrap. Did you manage to see yours all wrapped up? As for age, it's not age that matters, it's personality. You're either stupid or you're not. I know really cool young people and really stupid old ones. Having said that, as someone who cycles quite a lot, I know that it's young males who generally appear to be the most dangerous drivers. I get the feeling that you're not one of them though. I have no idea how much experience you have with RWD sports cars, but if you're new to them I have just one helpful tip - be very gentle/progressive with your accelerator foot - if you're brutal with it, you'll lose the back end of the car when you don't want to, even if you're going slowly - especially in the wet. Am I rambling again? Oh well, it's the privilege we old folks have. As for the poor M3 owners - they NEED to show off, just to prove they're not driving any old boring saloon car. Whereas you already got the look! Which reminds me... :worthless: |
Congratulations! Becareful with your right foot. It's RWD car so pay more attention on driving when the road conditions are bad.

Just some advice capo.. If you are ever in a situation where you are wondering whether you should or you shouldn't do something, the right answer is don't do it. If you think you are going too fast, you are. Don't ever try "something new" on the street. Don't try to impress your buddies. This is NOT a good first sports car at such a young age... Its tail happy and powerful enough to get you into trouble real quick... Leave that VDC switch alone please...
Also, since you are so young..you can use that to convince your parents to let you take a high performance driving course. Just tell them you want to take it to feel more comfortable. They will probably go with it and you will have a blast. I guarantee that. They teach you how to drift without losing control and other fun stuff. Its one of the most fun things I did with my old car. Oh yeah, really enjoy the car!! |
^^^^ Hey! That's the best advice I've ever seen on the internet!

However, nobody should use VDC as a substitute for good driving - it can do funny things to your control of the car (like try to take it out of your hands!). |
It doesn't steer for you does it?

Not exactly, but as you may know, if your rear end starts sliding the VDC will try to correct it, possibly in a way you're not expecting, leading to all sorts of slipping & sliding. For example it caused me to fishtail once while overtaking and my rear end nearly swung back into the side of the bus I was passing. Sometimes it's easier to correct a slide yourself, if you know what to do. |
Ive always wanted to take them classes. I love drifting but have never done it.

Drifting is the biggest fun. I had a day drifting at Silverstone in one of these... http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g7...mx33007_03.jpg |
Nice. I play forza 2 and drift on there all the time. Ive only attempted once in real life in my buddies 89 240sx at a track. It was fun but i wanna take classes.
