you should have redlined 1st 2nd and 3rd gears in the first 20 miles to seat the rings properly. its too late now. luckily the factory did it for you

you should have redlined 1st 2nd and 3rd gears in the first 20 miles to seat the rings properly. its too late now. luckily the factory did it for you and whoever pdi'd your car at the dealership probably too.
ive performed a hard break-in on a brand new honda s2000, vw gti, 2 evo x's all by warming up the engine out of the dealers lot and then proceeding to redline 1st gear, engine break back down to low rpm and repeat 3 times. same with 2nd gear, same with 3rd gear. went home, changed oil to full synthetic and have never burned a drop of oil on either vehicle and they all ran strong |
