A rare quick trip to redline in a low gear, especially once there are 100 miles on the clock, isn't going to hurt anything. I wouldn't do it a lot,

A rare quick trip to redline in a low gear, especially once there are 100 miles on the clock, isn't going to hurt anything. I wouldn't do it a lot, and I sure as hell would not do it in 5th gear, but letting it rev a little in 1st once or twice isn't going to hurt anything. After all, the guys that move the cars around the lot have already been bouncing it off the rev limiter for you.
