If I biff it doing 100 on street I don't expect sorrow from people who don't know me personally. People would be free to call me an idiot. So why is Mr Rodas off limits? He was just another guy making stupid move on street. FYI I never speed excessively with passengers. ...Never. I have seen north of 150 mph on deserted road by myself with miles of visibility with no traffic but let's say I had blow out and rolled. I'd just be another asswad driving way to fast on the street.

I hear about all the emotional denials of drag racing but you don't have to drag race to be dangerous on surface streets. I suspect they will find that car was moving way too fast and just got away from driver. The debris spray seen in pics indicates very fast speeds. I feel sorry for Paul as I believe he wouldn't have put someone in danger like mr rodas did. And fact he had teenage daughter is tough too. Feel very bad for her.

Also consider if mr rodas had survived and Paul died I suspect manslaughter charges or wrongful death suit would have happened.

I'm not here to argue the fact that what rodas did was wrong. I never said he was right. Reports say he was doing 45 on a 15mph curve. Was it higher? Lower? We will NEVER know even though I think it was a lot higher then that. Some say it was a malfunction. What I meant by accidents happen is that Mr. Rodas did not jump on the car on a mission to kill someone. It was an ACCIDENT. That does NOT change who he was as a man. He was actually paul walkers racing partner. Long time friend. What he did was wrong, and what everyone else does is wrong as well. We ALL know tons of street races take place with these high performance cars, Ugr lambos, ams gtr's, vipers, camaros, supras all over highways all over forums and states. And people ROOT for these competitions and we see it on THESE forums All the time. My point was not to let this accident CHANGE a good person to looking like a scumbag. If you haul *** like you stated even on your own, and had an ACCIDENT and god forbid passed away I would morn a loss not sit and say that your a criminal with no right to deserve sorrow. Accidents happen and unfortunately in this case two lifes were lost.

And I agree that your still responsible as a driver for the damages done to yourself and others and are held accountable for a persons injury.

Driver died from multiple traumatic wounds, Paul died from combination of traumatic wounds and fire.

Wonder if they know he expired after the fire started by finding a burned esophagus from him taking his last few breaths? I'm not trying to be graphic or insensitive, I just wonder how they know he didn't die upon impact.

All my friends that were at ae performance knew exactly who was in the car, saw them drive off and took pics and video. several of them were first to scene with fire extinguishers sadly didn't do squat. I have seen several fires at the trace track and seen cars engulfed in flames where fire trucks can barely put it out after dumping a whole tank.

Once the carbon fiber and magnesium parts get to burning……its not going out unless you have halon in the fire truck. Water will not do it nor will the powder stuff. You need halon to smother out the oxygen and stop the reaction. So the small hand carried extinquisher ones your buds used would not have done anything to stop it. Halon can also kill people and suffocate them. I have been deep in the bowls of broadband company servers and transmitters that warn you…..if the halon system kicks in due to a fire…..the fire will go out and you will die not from the fire….but from lack of free O2 in the air. So if it alarms and light flash……get out immediately.

Makes me respect the guy more, but if I bought $400+ of stuff to send, and my net worth is $50k, while his is 1000 times more, I'm still more awesome!

In any case, still a good deed:

That's really a kind thing to do. Let's not forget though, this was also a guy banging a 16 year old girl when he was 33. I guess parents don't bring statutory rape charges when the guy statutory raping their daughter is a Hollywood star with lots of money?

I'm not saying his death isn't sad, but let's pump the brakes on petitioning the Vatican to canonize the dude.
